"I just spoke to him, so I'm sure it doe-" Dana was cut off yet again. She couldn't seem to get a single word in, in between Carolyn's constant ranting.
"I reached out to Shazam and he says he didn't see him, I don't know what's going on with my son, but I do know he isn't acting like himself lately. When I went to see about him last week, he looked as if he hadn't eaten or slept in days, I'm so scared for him."
Dana could hear the fear in Carolyn's voice upon talking about Dino. The only thing that bothered her is, that she hadn't noticed it herself.
Dino clearly had some issues that needed to be worked out and she hadn't noticed a single thing.
This alone made Dana feel bad, considering the last time she spoke to him, he seemed fine.
That was Dino though, he always knew how to hide his true feelings from anyone if he wanted.
"Dana, I need you to go check on him for me. I would do it myself, but I have somewhere else to be and won't be able to make it in time. After you pick the kids up from school, I need you to go straight to his house, just to see if he's alright."
"Carolyn, I do-" Dana couldn't fix her lips to tell Carolyn the real reason why she couldn't or rather didn't want to go to Dino's house.
What if something really terrible happened? Could Dino be hurt? What about Teshya? Was she there?
Dana wasn't sure if Dino had spilled the beans to her yet, and she just wasn't ready to face the music.
She couldn't bear looking Teshya in the face, knowing what she'd done.
Besides, Teshya was his girlfriend, it was her duty to look after Dino for moments like this. Where the hell was she at, during his time of need?
"I wouldn't be asking you to do this, if I didn't need it, please Dana, I just want to know if my son is okay."
Against her better judgement and thoughts, Dana still heard herself say, "Okay, a-alright, yeah, I'll do it. I'll go check on him for you."
"Thank you, listen there's a key under the mat he keeps for emergencies, just use that to get in the house."
Dana twisted up her face, "shouldn't you try calling him first, just to be on the safe side? I don't need any surprises and neither does he."
"I told you he won't answer the phone, that's why I need you to go over there."
"Okay, um, like I said I'll go. But I'm still going to call him, just in case."
"That's fine, thank you Dana."
"No problem."

After placing the phone back on the hook, Dana sighed deeply and palmed her forehead. She looked down at Diamond, who now had the remote in her hand, "what is wrong with your daddy?" She said more so to herself than her daughter.
Whatever was wrong with Dino, she hoped it wasn't anything too bad. She was about sick of all the bad news, she needed a break for once.
Later That Day...
Dana soon had arrived to what felt like an empty house. Dino's car was in the driveway, that being the only way she knew of his presence.
She made sure to give him a quick call, before pulling out of her own driveway, only to not get an answer, just like Carolyn had said.
Even more confusion had set in, the moment she untwisted the lock to the front door, also using her knee to push it open.
She had Diamond on her hip, Devin and Dae'sha stood safely by her side, both with backpacks on their backs.
