Selena's POV:

I woke up with an ear-splitting headache. My head was throbbing so much that it felt like it was going to explode and my bones were tired and aching. Jesus, it hurt. I sat up, groaning as I did so, and watched as the colours blurred around me before coming into focus. Where the hell am I? This was definitely not my house. Definitely not my room. I glanced around. No familiarity, whatsoever. No pictures, wallpaper, no nothing. So why am I here? Someone cleared their throat at the doorway and I snapped my head up to meet those gorgeous hazel eyes. "What the hell are you doing here?" I croaked, rubbing my eyes to make sure I didn't have tears in them. "I-" he paused. "I wanted to make sure you were okay." he told me. "I'm just peachy!" I snapped, flattening my hair. "Anything else?" I said. Hurt flashed in his eyes and he looked down. "I thought we could talk." he was mumbling, nervous and completely the opposite of himself. I would have been sorry for him if I hadn't been so angry. "Well, sorry." I said sarcastically. "I'm not really feeling in the mood." I said. "Sel, could you just-" he started. "Don't call me that." I stated. Justin took a deep breath. "Selena, we need to talk about Saturday." he sighed. "There's nothing to talk about." I shrugged and stood up, looking for a way to escape. My heart seemed to be pounding as hard as my head at the moment and I was afraid I'd collapse any moment.  "Don't." Justin took a step forward. "You deserve an explanation." he said. "There is none." I spat. "Don't you see? I already caught you, there's no use in pursuing this." He brushed away a look of hair from his eyes. "You don't understand; it really wasn't what it looked like." he said. "Why should it matter to me?" I laughed bitterly. "You're not my boyfriend anymore, you don't need to explain that you were fucking some other girl." I turned and managed to get to the door, seeing as he'd moved beside the bed. "You do care." he called. "I know you do." I turned and caught a glance of him. "What makes you so sure?" I expected him to look down, say he couldn't or maybe even shoot me a cocky smile but he didn't. He kept his eyes focused on me, staring at me with so much intensity I almost shivered.  "You told me." he responded. "You told me last night." My blood went cold as he spoke and I could already feel my body going into paralysis.  "I doubt it." I denied. "But it's true." his posture didn't change in the slightest. "What did I tell you then?" I demanded. "You said you loved me." he said. My eyes widened as I took in his words. No. No, I couldn't have. "You're lying." I decided, trying to get my legs to work again. "You are." I said. "I'm not." he shook his head. "And neither were you when you said it." he added. "I was drunk." I spat out. "I didn't know what I was saying." I retaliated. "Drunk words are sober thoughts." Justin quoted.  "That's not true." I was fully out of the doorway now. "It is." he stated stubbornly and took a step my way. "Isn't." I denied and tried to escape but he was close enough to stop me by pulling my arm. "Just stop denying it." he said calmly. "Just accept it, you told me." he added. "So what if I did?" I challenged, changing tactics. "It shouldn't matter to you anyway." I say. "It does." he spoke softly, his eyes catching mine. "It really does." he said. "I-" my throat went dry. "I-" I tried as he took a step closer. "You need to stop running, Sel. I'm not going to hurt you." he said. Tears burned in my eyes as I croaked out my next words. "You already have." he stopped still and stared at me, his eyes filling up with hurt and something else I couldn't quite identify. As if he was finally giving up on trying to talk to me, he sighed.  "Leave." he ordered and shook his head. "Just go." A lump built up in my throat and I blinked to hold back tears. "Okay." I said as I turned away and left.
I'm not going to lie and say that I didn't cry. Because I did. I cried almost as much as I had done the night he broke my heart but, as selfish as I was, even though I had given him no chance and shut him down time and time again, him giving up was a sign that I had to let go of him completely. Mum got really worried, told me to go to bed and offered to call Nick. I would've called my brother, I would've, but I really don't want any gunshots to go off today.  I sat up. When did my life turn into a freaking soap opera? "Selena?" Mum's voice called from downstairs. "Someone wants to see you!" I groaned and flopped back down, stuffing my face in the pillow. "Tell them to go away!" I shout. "I'm afraid they're insisting." Mum replied. I sighed and got up again, beginning to walk to the door and trudging, rather reluctantly, down the stairs. My eyes widened when I got to the bottom. "Ryan?" the boy in question squirms in his position, scratching the back of his head and looking uncertain. "Hey." he says. "Hey." I frowned. "What are you doing here?" I ask. "I wanted to apologise." he said apologetically. "You didn't deserve what I called you and I'm sorry. It's just, Melissa, I-" he cut himself off, swallowing hard. "It's okay." I spoke gently. "You didn't know." he loved Melissa and love makes people do crazy things.  "If I did, I could've-" his voice cracked in the middle. "I should never have trusted her over you." I blinked back tears. "I know, Ry." I say. "I'm sorry." he apologised once more. "And I hope we can be friends again." he added. "We can be friends." I agreed. "But it'll take a little time. I'm still not over what you said-" his eyes quickly lowered to the ground. "-but I know that you were just mad." I finished. "Thanks." he exhaled. "I really missed you." I laughed lightly. "I missed you too." he opened his mouth to say more but the doorbell rang so I shot him a glance and went to open it. I walked over and wrenched open the door, then gasped when I saw who it was. His golden eyes swam over me once, taking in my obviously hurricane-like state all while not looking to good himself. "Sel.." Justin gulped audibly. "I need to talk to you." I gaped at him. He tells me to leave and now he wants to talk? "Who is it?" Ryan appeared beside me. Justin's eyes narrowed. "What the fuck are you doing here?"  "I'm here to see my friend." Ryan retorted. "Why the hell are you here?" he added. "I need to talk to my girlfriend." Justin said through gritted teeth. "And I suggest you move before I kick your ass." Ryan looked like he was about to respond (possibly with his fists) but I quickly intervened. "It's okay, Ryan." I interjected. "I'll call you later alright?" Ryan glanced back and forth a couple of times between Justin and I before nodding and stepping out of the house.  "I'll see you later." Ryan shot me a sideways look and glared at Justin one final time before leaving. Justin turned to me, his eyes heavy and angry. "You want to explain to me what he was doing here?" he shot at me. "Why should I?" I taunted. "Who I have over is none of your business and if you'll excuse me, I have things to do." I turned to walk away but he grabbed my arm and swung me around to face him.  "Don't." he said dangerously. "We have to talk." he said. "You told me to leave remember?" I burst out. "And now you want to talk to me?" I add. "I was hurt." he inhaled sharply. "And I wasn't thinking straight." he added. "Right." I muttered. "Well that's great but I'm going to go now." I didn't know why I was being so cold; it shouldn't be this hard but every time I see him, I just want to run and ignore him. Because I don't trust myself to stay strong. "Wait." he emphasised. "I need to talk to you." he tells me. "About what?" I demanded. "There's nothing to talk about." I add. "If you would just listen for once then yes there is." he exploded. I crossed my arms over my chest. "Give me one reason why I should believe anything you have to say."  He stood silent for a moment and I scoffed, pulling my arm out of his grip. "Exactly." I began to walk away again when he said something I never thought I'd hear. "Because I love you, dammit!" I stopped in my tracks. Did he just-? I love you.  I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you. The big one-four-three. "You what?" I whispered, moving my body to face him. He ran his fingers through his hair. "I love you. I have for a while now." he says. "But you-" I broke off, unable to say the words. "I didn't." he shook his head. "I had no reason to." he added. "Melissa.." I started. "Was lying." Justin confirmed. "I would never cheat on you." he says. "Then-" I started. "You jumped to the wrong conclusion. She came into my room, I don't know what happened but the next thing I knew, her lips were on mine." he says. "So you didn't.." I trailed off. "No." he shook his head. "If you'd waited before, I would've told you." I gulped. "I'm sorry but I'm not." he nodded. "I can get that." I sighed. "So then.." I blinked. "Now what?" I say. "This may or may not be the part where you tell me you love me too." he grinned, getting closer. "And then I'll kiss you and we'll live happily ever after." My eyebrows rose. "You had this all planned out?" I smirked. "Course." he shrugged. "I want you, now and forever." I melt. "Well then." I grinned. "What are you waiting for?" Justin's long strides crossed the room in seconds and it wasn't a moment longer before I was wrapped up in his arms. He leaned in and knocked his forehead with mine. "I'm waiting." I wrapped my arms around his neck. "I love you too." And then he kissed me, just like he said he would. The kiss was long and slow and butterflies knotted in my stomach as he did. We'd kissed before, sure. But this kiss blew the other ones out of the water. It was filled with all the love we had for each other and had such an intensity to it that I felt my stomach curling into tight coils. I loved him and he loved me. And I wanted to do it.. live happily ever after. And maybe I would. But I wasn't going to think about that right now. Because now? I wanted to live in just us.
