Selena's POV:

Justin: I'll be over in 5 minutes.

That was it. I was sitting casually on top of my bed, reading Percy Jackson, and I got a text. Now I'm staring at it. Why is he coming over? What did he want? I reluctantly dragged myself out of bed and changed. I turned my body around and checked to see if my outfit looked okay. I was dressed in a light pink top and white jeans. Not bad actually. I checked my phone again. I was still puzzled as to why Justin wanted to meet up now. It was Saturday. Didn't he go and hang out with Dylan and Jason? Why is he coming over? It's not like I'm doing anything interesting. It was a little weird actually. Why hang out with me? Why not his friends? Honestly, I was confused. No duh, the annoying voice in my head nagged. I rolled my eyes at my extremely sassy brain. I forced myself to go out of the room instead of flopping back down onto my extremely comfortable bed. Sigh. I sometimes wish I hated Justin. That way I wouldn't do all these weird things.. like get out of bed on a Saturday. But I didn't hate him. Instead, I actually had feelings for the bastard. Why? Honestly, I'm still trying to figure it out for myself. It's not like he's treated me like some fairy princess or something. What he had done, however, was drive me insane, bring out new confidence in me that I didn't know I had and make me frustrated beyond words. Seriously, what the hell? Why can't I like someone nice? Why did I have to develop feelings for an outrageous boy who doesn't even do relationships? I guess he really does have that effect on most girls, it annoys the crap out of me. Maybe, if I wasn't so unbelievably abnormal, I would be crushing on someone like Austin. You know, kind, considerate and thoughtful. Well, Justin could be thoughtful sometimes. But he did have a tendency to crack too many sexual innuendoes. Does that make anyone else uncomfortable? That's another thing! He probably won't ever have feelings for me. He'll just want me for sex. Yay! (note the sarcasm). I guess I'll just have to wait till this crush fades away. I sighed again. I am so freaking bad at this. Dealing with crushes, I mean. The last time I had a crush it was- "Selena!" my Mum exclaimed. "Awake already? Doesn't seem like you." she questioned. "Don't I know it, Mum." I took a seat on the chair next to the kitchen counter. I lent my head against my hands and buried my face in them. "Out of curiosity, why are you awake?" she asks. "My stupid friend says he's coming over." I complained. "Which stupid friend? To be more specific, which stupid boy friend?" Mum grinned at me, propping her elbows on the counters. I gave her a flat look.  "It's nothing, Mum." I lied. It was something and it was definitely not good. "Oh please," She scoffed. "I'm not stupid." I rolled my eyes playfully. My Mum was such a teenager sometimes. She hated getting up in the morning but she did it anyway. She hated grocery shopping. She loved gossiping. I swear, if my Mum was my age, she'd probably be my best friend. Weird, I know. But it's the truth. Thing is, she's not my age so she definitely wouldn't get it. "His name's Justin." Mum started squealing. I winced, her squeals were so damn high pitched. "I knew it! I knew you liked someone. Your Dad owes me ten bucks." I looked at her incredulously. They bet on this. Only my parents. "You bet on this?" I ask. "Well, duh." Mum rolled her eyes. "Your father, expert on all women, decided to inform me that he knew more about you than I do and that you weren't crushing on someone. I told him he was wrong and he disagreed and so here we are." That confirms it, my parents are bonkers.  "Right. You guys do know you're like 40 right?" I asked. My mother smacked my arm, glaring at me. "Don't be rude, I'm still your Mum." she says. "Sometimes, I seriously doubt that." I muttered under my breath. She seemed more like a cousin or sister most of time, but when she was mad, she was scary. So scary, in fact, that my dad made me reason with her last time while he locked himself up so he could hide from her wrath. "Speaking of being your mother.." I looked sharply up at her. "Can you explain why you missed half of your classes on Wednesday last week?" Shit. "I don't know what you're talking about." I said, coolly. Her eyes narrowed at me. "Don't lie to me Selena. I already know." I sighed. Well there was no way I was getting out of this. "Mum.. Melissa's back." She stiffened. I couldn't blame her. If I was her, I'd be pretty scared and worried too. How would you have felt if your kid tried to commit suicide? It must have been like a horror movie for her. She was so mad at first but when her anger faded, she burst into tears. Mum cried but she looked so heartbroken, I felt torn. I hate making her feel like that; helpless and guilty. I promised I wouldn't do anything like that again and I won't. "I sort of.. humiliated her I guess," I continued. "I didn't feel like staying in school anymore so I left. Justin, the guy I like, followed me and we ended up going to Julie's." Mum looked up in surprise. She knew I hadn't been to Julie's since it happened. "Does this guy, Justin, know?" she asked. "He does." I say. "You must trust him." she tells me. "For some reason, I do. I really do." I didn't tell her that Justin had told me his story because that would lead to her asking questions and I had promised Justin I wouldn't say anything and I'm not breaking his confidence. Mum looked like she wanted to say something but just then the doorbell rang. I got up. I knew who it was. "I'll get it, Mum." I told her. She raised an eyebrow but nodded. I walked down the hallway and wrenched the door open and my breath was taken away. He looked as good as ever, if not better. His eyes were glinting and his chesnut hair was ruffled and untidy. I might usually have found that annoying, but on him it looked sexy. He was dressed in his usual leather bomber jacket and jeans. Damn. His eyes shot up to mine and he smirked. "You have a little drool right there." He said. I flushed scarlet. "I'm not drooling." I defended. "Uh-huh." he says, not believing a word. "I would never drool over you." Liar.  "Please babe, if you didn't drool over me, you'd have to be lesbian." My heart fluttered when he called me babe. "You're so full of yourself." I scoffed. ""Have you seen this." He gestured down his body. Oh hell, I want to. Shut up. Stupid teenage hormones. "I have and I must say I've seen better." I protest. "In your dreams." I scoffed. My mouth opened to make some witty comeback but I was interrupted.  "Selena Marie! Why are you keeping the poor boy outside? Let him in." My Mum appeared beside me. Justin straightened and held out his hand for my Mum. "Good morning, Mrs Gomez." He said, politely. "Oh honey, please call me Mandy." Mum laughed. She shot me an impressed look as if to say good choice. If only she knew.. "If you insist." Justin grinned.  "Come in, come in. I don't know where Selena's manners have gone today." she complained. "Mom!" I whined. "Selena, move aside and let Justin in." I reluctantly stepped away from the door shooting my Mum a warning look. She smirked at me. Justin gave me a smirk of his own and walked through the hall after Mum. Holy shit! My Mum had just met Justin. God knows what made him all well mannered and polite all of a sudden. I followed them wordlessly down the hall and towards the kitchen where Justin occupied my previous seat. "That's my seat." I scowled. My mother's head shot up and she glared at me with a don't-be-rude-to-the-guest look in her eyes. "Selena, behave yourself." She snapped. "It's alright, Mrs. Gomez." Justin intervened, shooting her a charming smile. My Mum beamed at him.  "Aren't you the charmer?" She remarked. Justin smirked. "Hopefully." His eyes glittered as they shot up to my face. I rolled my eyes.  "Would you like some-" Mum's question was interrupted by a shout from upstairs. "Where the hell are my Nikes?" Dad's voice boomed from above. Loud footsteps were heard and I saw my Dad appear in his work out clothes at the doorway. He was scowling moodily and was not at all happy about something. "I don't know, Hun." Mum stated. "I can't find them! They were- hey, are those pancakes?" His eyes suddenly lit up with some kind of childish joy and I fought an eye-roll at his behaviour. I swear, sometimes my Dad seems seriously bipolar. We should get that checked out.  "Want some?" Mum flipped three on a plate and shoved them at Dad. He grinned widely before sitting down and beginning to munch on them. He didn't seem to notice Justin that much before Mum said; "You owe me ten bucks." Dad's head snapped up to face her. She gave him a pointed look and his eyes shifted to Justin. "Who are you?" Dad asked. "Justin Bieber, nice to meet you sir." Justin held a hand out a hand across the table and reluctantly shook it. "Friend of yours?" Dad turned to me. I nodded. "Just a friend?" I blushed. "Yes Dad. Just a friend." I replied.  "Good." His head turned in Justin's direction. "And you, no funny business. I don't need a grandchild just yet." I stared at him horrified. This is so freaking embarrassing. Seriously Dad? Mum apparently didn't think so. "Did you just quote my dad?" She laughed. Dad's face went slightly red but he smirked.  "Maybe." he says. "Huh?" I asked stupidly.  "Back in University, your dad came to pick me up for a lecture we were supposed to be going to and your Grandma told me to let him in. Your Grandpa stared at your Dad for a while and said exactly what he said to poor Justin here." Mum explained. Justin cracked a smile.  "Tradition?" He guessed. Dad grinned at him.  "I like this one." he says. "Of course you would." Mum muttered. "I mean, who was the last one?" Dad continued. "James? No it was Ryan. James was the one before. Course I'd already met Ryan, but Selena doesn't talk much to guys outside school so I decided to lay the line on him. Not only that but the poor boy was tomato red." I was about to explode. "Dad!" I exclaimed. "Not forgetting the major crush little Selena had on him." Mum added. My face flushed. "Mum!" I hissed. "What?" She gave me an innocent look. Justin was watching me impassively as if searching for something.  "Come on Justin; we have to go." I grabbed his hand pulling him upwards. I practically dragged him out of the house, not oblivious to the laughter behind me. So Goddamn embarrassing. "You had a crush on Ryan?" Justin questioned. My face was on fire. "No." I denied. "Uh-huh." he didn't believe a word. "I didn't." I protest. "It's okay if you don't want to tell me." His tone took one of hostility. "Okay fine! I did, okay?" I admit. "Is that why you were so upset about Mellissa dating him?" he asked. "Well at the start maybe but not anymore." I say. "Why would that be?" He smirked. Because I like you. "Because that was a long time ago." I shrugged. There was no damn way I was admitting it. He already had a big enough ego and I wasn't going to add to that. "No other reason?" he pushed. "No." I lied. "I'm pretty sure there is." he said. "What would that be?" I ask. "A certain hot guy in school." he tells me. "Austin?" I ask. "Please, that douche isn't hot." he says, rolling his eyes. "You would think so." I roll my eyes. "Why would that be?" he asks. "Because then you'd be gay. Unless..." I joke. "I'm not gay." he says; abrubtly. "You are the one that suggested it." I say. "I didn't." he protests. "You did." I deny. "If that's the way to make you feel better." he says. "Shut up." I grinned at him. He should know better than to cross wits with me. We climbed onto his awesome bike and that feeling that I had would never go away. You know, the one that I felt free. Almost as if I was flying.

A house came into view- wait no, scratch that. A mansion came into view. I guess you guys know what mansion means but it was freaking huge! It had like a gazillion windows, not to mention an enormous garden. As I chastely unwrapped my arms from Justin's torso I couldn't help wondering if he was secretly a prince or something. When he said his dad was loaded he really meant it. "This is where you live?" was the first thing out of my mouth. Justin chuckled. "No this is Santa's workshop." I glared at him. Sarcasm not appreciated.  "This place is huge!" I admitted. "I know. Too bad there aren't many people who care in it." His expression was dark and I mentally slapped myself. Stupid girl I am. "Sorry." I muttered. He turned to me and his face softened. "Hey, my bad. I'm sorry." He apologised. "It's okay. Why are we here anyway?" I asked. "Because I want to be." I rolled my eyes. He could be so annoyingly stubborn sometimes. "Helpful," He smiled at me. "Come on," He took my hand and dragged me through the house. I saw glimpses of beautiful, exotic flowers and really expensive looking statues and almost everything you could imagine. And that was just the garden. The house on the inside.. was just wow. I know this is probably really weird but the furniture was just so utterly cool. Yeah, I know, I know, I am one strange girl. He didn't stop pulling me all the way till we reached the living room.  "Wha-" I started. "Just come on." He gave me no time to question anything as he flung the door open, revealing two figures, both their heads bent down in concentration. One of them was a guy. He didn't seem much younger than Justin and actually but I couldn't tell for sure. The second was a little girl with light brown hair. "Brandon!" The guy- Brandon- turned round abruptly and when he saw Justin a wide smile broke out across his face. "Hola, big bro." He held out his fist for a fist bump. Justin obliged and bumped his against his brothers. They really did look alike. The only difference was that Brandon's eyes were a stunning blue. "Jay-jay!" The little girl came running forward and attached herself to Justin's leg. He smiled softly down at her and I felt my heart warm at his obvious affection for his sister. "Hey Sophie." He replied. Sophie didn't say anything, she just grinned up at him. I looked down at her and saw she had the same coloured eyes as Brandon. "Who's the chick?" Brandon asked suddenly. I snapped my attention to him and shyly held out my hand for him to shake. "Hi, I'm Selena. Nice to meet you." I introduced. He shook my hand and smiled at me. "You too." he said. "Your name sounds like a princess." I looked down at Sophie. I bent down so we were at eye level.  "Yours does too. Princess Sophie, isn't that pretty?" I gave her my friendliest smile. She giggled. "I've always wanted to be a Princess."  she tells me. "Maybe you can be. All you have to do is marry a prince." I tell her. "Really?" She asked, her eyes wide. My heart melted just a little. "Uh-huh." Someone cleared their throat. "Forgetting about me already?" Justin teased. "But of course," I smirked. "she's so much cuter than you." Justin shot a glare in my direction but Brandon promptly started guffawing. "Man, I like you already." Brandon said.  "Thanks. I like you too." I responded.  "But not as much as you like me." Justin butt in. "Please, you're so full of yourself." I roll my eyes. "Don't I have a reason to be?" Yes, yes you do. "You wish, Bieber." I say. "You want some of this. Don't deny it." he teased. "What's there to deny?" I say in defence. "Wait, you guys aren't dating?" Brandon asked. "Ew! No, gross!" I denied at the same time Justin said; "She totally wants to." I glared at him. Obnoxious, arrogant prick. You know he's right, my subconscious nagged. "That's interesting." Brandon commented with a sly smile. Justin obviously recognised the expression because he gave his brother a tight grimace and shake of head. "Why is it interesting?" I asked. "He's never brought a girl home before." Brandon responded. My heart did a little flip. Justin had never brought a girl home before? "Brandon," Justin warned. Brandon paid no attention to his brother, not even glancing in his direction, he kept his eyes on me. "That's why I assumed you were his girlfriend. Why else would he bring you here? Has he tried any crappy pick up lines on you yet?" I shook my head. Crappy pick up lines? Brandon looked at me with an amused glint in his eyes. "You're in luck." he says. "Don't you dare say another word!" Justin threatened looking murderous. "There was this one time," Brandon started off. "We're at this party right? We're standing near the drink bar and this chick trips over and lands at Justin's feet. He doesn't offer to help her up just says 'Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?' The chick was so pissed, I swear. Turned out, she was the manager of the bar and she kicked us out." Justin was practically fuming at this point and advanced towards with large, threatening steps. "And there was this other time," Brandon continued. "He saw a new girl across the street that's like 3 grades ahead of him and he walks up to her and said 'Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?' She found it hilarious but when her boyfriend turned up, he didn't find it very funny." Justin had started running after Brandon a while ago but Brandon kept his eyes on me and I was going off into fits of laughter. "And there was this other time-" he started. "Shut up Brandon." Justin growled. "-he was in 7th grade and he walked up to this girl he fancied and tried to lay a line on her and she ended up having spit covering her face because he had water in his mouth and Jason thumped his back." Justin tackled Brandon to the floor, clamping a hand over his mouth. "You didn't hear any of that." His hazel eyes lifted to mine. I smirked teasingly at him. "I'm pretty sure I did." I teased. "You didn't hear anything, OJ Girl." he says. "Who's OJ Girl?" A soft voice from beside me asked. I looked down into Sophie's wide blue eyes and smiled. I had almost forgotten she was there. Her eyes bore pleadingly into mine and my heart melted just a bit. "It's nothing, hun." I tell her. "Okay, Selly." She replied cheerfully. Aw, I have a new nickname to add to the list. Selly is a common shortening for Selena but no one really used it for me. "Do you want to do something?" I asked. "Can you play Barbie with me?" she asked. "Sure." The energetic little girl beamed at me and I could feel my own grin grow wider at her excited little face. "Jay and Bray never want to play with me." Jay and Bray? I looked over at the two scowling teenagers and tried to hold back a snicker. It was so obvious that they both were annoyed at the nickname. "Well, they're both stupid." I tell her. "Hey!" Both boys protested and I gave them a teasing smile. I looked down at Sophie. "Okay, princess. Lead the way." I turned to Sophie. "You're ditching us?" Justin asked. "For my sister?" added Justin. "Why not? She's way cuter than you anyway." I stuck my tongue out at him. "Not cuter than me though, right?" Brandon grinned. "Course not, Bray." I cooed. Brandon glared at me. "I take back what I said about liking you." he said. "Don't be mad at me, Bray." He glared harder and I pouted.  "Whatever," Brandon turned to Justin. "You're girlfriend is secretly a devil." he tells him. "I'm not his girlfriend." I interrupted. "Yet." Justin added. "I don't like you anymore." I say. "Don't be like that babe." I turned to Sophie, ignoring both Justin and Brandon. Those two were more alike then I thought. "Wanna go now?" I ask Soph. "Yes!" Sophie wasted no time in grabbing my hand and lugging me upstairs to her room. She pushed a small door open and it was decorated in a delicate pink, toys littered across the floor. She scooped up two dolls, handing one to me. "Mine's called Rose. What's yours called?" she asked. "Mine's called Lucy." I decided. And with that the games began.
-
Sophie snored softly as I lifted her from the floor and placed her on her bed. She had got tired and fell asleep a few moments when we were playing. I placed a soft kiss on her forehead and couldn't help but think what it would be like to have a sister. I reached down and gathered the toys, putting them where I think they're supposed to go. This isn't my house, remember? Once I was done, I tip-toed quietly out of Sophie's room and down the stairs to where the living room was. It had gone all quiet and I was starting to worry. While I was playing with Sophie, I could always hear something or the other going on down there. Oh my God, what if they were kidnapped? No wait, that's stupid. They are really rich though.  Without a thought, I barged into the living room. There were no bandits, thieves or robbers; just two teenage boys. Two very guilty looking teenage boys. Both sets of eyes were glinting with something I can't quite explain. My eyes dropped to a small piece of paper clutched in their hands. My bucket list.
