I've realized that there's no getting over you
There's no moving on
There's only accepting
Accepting that I'm not the girl you love
Accepting that you don't want to see me anymore
Accepting that you want them
That you never wanted me more than them
And that I'll always be second best
Maybe if i can't talk to you it's better
But not when you've become my best friend
And I'm completely lost without you
I just want to hear you laugh once more
I want to feel your lips up against mine
I just want that rush of adrenaline
When my hands start wandering up your shirt
And my parents are just down the hall
I miss what we used to have
Even though i know it can't happen again
But i want to be able to hold you for hours again
And hold your hand as i parade around
Showing people how lucky i am
But none of that is mine to do anymore
It all belongs to the other person now
The one you really loved
Even when you promised that you loved me
