"No, No. Queenie wake up. You-you promised—No, no, no" he whispered as he buried his head in your neck with his thoughts praying for a miracle.

        "Allen... Are you... crying?"

The radio toned down a bit, anchoring him back to reality. His eyes flashed over your figure, seeing you sitting up and staring at him quizzically. Allen unconsciously pats his cheeks and they were indeed wet from crying. He let out a chuckle, feeling pathetic about his past. "It's nothing, doll," he assures as a familiar slow song softly reached his ears, his mind lighting up with a brilliant idea. He stands up with a hand out for you to take. "C'mon, (Y/N)," he beckons.

        "Let's dance"

Within the midst of his venturing through the American woodlands in search of his brother Allen, Mathieu glanced up towards the orange leaves rustling on a shrub. Kumakuro, having woken up by the sound, stood up alarmed. Reaching for a dagger, he cautiously approaches the noise. "I can sense you around here. Make yourself visible, now," his voice wavered lightly at the end yet he maintained a strong stance.  There was silence but then a small figure showed itself from behind the variety of coloured leaves. Matt immediately sheathed his weapon back to its place and sighed in disappointment—he was worried for nothing.

"Little girl, what are you doing here alone? Are you lost?" He asked, confused when the girl shook her head and smiled softly. "Do you talk?" Matt then asks. 'I cannot... I was born like this, sir' A voice echoes in his mind, scaring him shitless—almost. Mathieu stares at the young girl in awe and cautiousness; a young girl born with a power, he doesn't bump into one of them often—it reminds him of that cheerful and freckled pale man that once visited Francois.

"Mary Jane, where are you?!" a panicked voice called out as the bushes rustled once more. Out you came from the shrubbery; Evelina Averill—Mary Jane's older sister. You had no sense of peculiarity, not a single bit special unlike your little sister who was born with powers that could cause great change to the world, but she was innocent she would hurt not even a fly! And so, you vowed to your mother before her untimely death that you would protect her from this cruel world. With autumn scenery as a backdrop, it was easy for Matt to see your appearance. Your (h/c) hair stuck out in different directions from your pulled up hairstyle and you sweater bullets underneath the fabric of you black gown; your breath was ragged and heavy—he guessed it was because of you running. Instantly, he knew you were every bit the protective sibling.

A flower blossomed from thin air in the little girl's tiny palms as she mindlessly plays with it. Your eyes widened as Mary Jane carelessly showcased her ability to a stranger of possible danger. Immediately, you stood in front of her, hiding her from the man. "Mister... I... I can explain... Just please do not tell the town leaders, please, she is but a child," you begged as your voice trembled. Matt shook his head with an emphatic smile; "No, I am well aware of your situation. I see that she's a gifted being and that she means a lot to you. I appreciate that kind of blessing..." Then, the distant protests of people were heard, causing you to fret for Mary Jane's safety. Matt noticed and ushered you quietly to come with him.

The kind traveller took the both of you to safety within the perimeter of his comforting cabin. A few days passed and he's grown quite fond of you Averill siblings. Upon his return to his temporary home, he held the bunch of firewood he gathered for winter times. Much to his dismay, silence dominated over the entire wooden shack. There was no sound of childlike laughter or of you softly scolding. He enters the premises, horrified when he sees that the pieces of furniture were knocked over, his porcelain plates were shattered; to put it simply, everything was a mess. His heart seemingly dropped as he prayed that his suspicions weren't true. Yet he goes anyways, to that God forsaken village that killed the innocent gifted mortals that threatened them. Matt knew that they were cowards--unsure of what to do when they see the 'witches' roaming amongst them and so due to irrational fear, they kill them.
