'Gosh Bina,' I thought, 'why did you mess it up!' We continued walking in silence and I began to walk further ahead.
"Oh wait, I don't know my way around here quite yet!" Michael called as I got further ahead of him.
"Sorry!" I said, dreading having to slow up and make conversation.
"I was being Speedy Gonzales." I said while searching his face for recognition. He was staring ahead and breifly turned his head towards me and smiled. It was like he didn't want to look at me. Finally we made it back to the kitchen where Nelson still sat in full regalia.
"There you are! We were about to send out a search team for you!" Nelson said while getting up to stretch,
"Wow Michael you clean up well," He said while eyeing his face.
"Say, can I get my face cleaned too?" As I was about to answer, Michael interrupted me quite hastily. "No time. I need to get back home right now. Joseph is going to kill me." He actually looked a bit frantic.
"We have a side entrance that will probably be empty, but I need to hide behind you, Nelson." I started to realize how dumb it was to take off his makeup here, when he still needed to get back home. 'Way to go Bina' I thought while rolling my eyes at myself. Michael pulled Nelson to the door, and just as it seemed that they were going to leave unceremoniously, without a goodbye, Michael turned around and said the most redeeming phrase,
"See you at 9," winked, and left.
