"Come on!"

I sat as anxiety climbed up my spleen. I clamped my hands hard together.

"Y/N calm," I heard a laugh next to me. I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up you," I grumbled.

"Hey that's a mean word!"

"You too. Now watch," I grinned, not taking my eyes off the track. Then I stood. Twelve girls ran down the home strech. I screamed and clapped as my little girl ran to get first in the race. Mason below me cheered as well.

"Go sissy!" He yelled.

Shawn next to me just smiled. I glanced over at him. He kissed me on the cheek and we all walked down the steps to meet Kayla down at the side of the track.

Shawn took my hand in his.

"I'm so proud right now Shawn," I whispered as we walked. Shawn chuckled, pressing another kiss to my forehead.

"I know. I think every family in the bleachers knew."

I rolled my eyes again at his smart remark when my daughter ran up to us.

"I won!" She exclaimed happily. She ran to Shawn, who picked her up and she beamed at her accomplishment.

"Good job Kay-wa!" Mason said.

"It's Kay-la not Kay-wa Mason," Kayla sneered.

"He is six Kayla," Shawn reminded then kissed her cheek. "You did very good today princess."

"I know I did," she nodded. We walked over to her friends parents and chatted. The great thing about being parents is having to small talk for the sake of your kid. Most of them were nice. Shawn almost fought a dad in the stands who made fun of Kayla for tripping once. We ended controlling his emotions thankfully.

"So are you going to the party this weekend?" One of the parents asked Kayla.

"What party?" I questioned.

"Oh just some of the kids in the neighborhood are coming to my house. Kayla is more than welcome to join."

Kayla begged.

A lot.

"I don't know," Shawn muttered.

"Dad I am 12!" She reminded. I giggled.

"She can go."

"Uh who said you make the choices?" Shawn asked. I gave him the look. Then smiled.

"Happy wife happy life. Remember that Mendes."

"Mommy can we get some food I'm starving!" Mason interrupted. I smiled.

"You can say starving but not Kayla? Yes sweetie," I ruffled his hair. We said goodbye to the other families and started towards the parking lot. When we exited the field, the sun was starting to set. The clouds masked some of the sky creating a mash of beautiful colors. The wind blew the leaves on the trees briskly as we moved to the car.

"Can we get fast food?" Kayla asked.

"Fast food bad for you," Mason argued.

"So, I just ran two whole miles!" Kayla protested.

"We will go wherever we feel like is best childern," Shawn intervened. I laughed, opening up the car door and hopping inside. I opened the makeup mirror to check my face. I smiled as I looked at my family. I loved Shawn when I first met him. But for a while we didn't date because we fought a lot. But then Kayla came around. So we got married. Then Mason came and we got a house. At first we were struggling. But through every bill, fight and tear, we came out champions.

"Dad play the winning song!" Kayla suggested.

Shawn put on Queen. And we all started to sing.

Because yes, our kids must know Queen to be real champions right?
