Shawn's POV

There was two things I noticed about this girl.

1) She is really pretty

2) She is a pluviophile.

Big word I know. It basically means someone who really likes rain. Knowing we live in Seattle, we get a lot of that. But she constantly looks out the window at the rain dripping down.

"I don't understand," My friend Taylor laughed as he sat next to me at the lunch table. "No one can be such a freak that just stares at rain," The others laughed. I didn't say anything. I just stood and walked away.

"Yo man where are you going?" Jack yelled to me. I didn't respond. I walked over to the table where only one girl sat.

"Is anyone sitting here?" I asked. She was frightened when she looked up at me. Her eyes holding a bewildered look.

"N-no one ever does," She stammered.

"Okay," I smiled and sat down. I could heard whispers behind me. Some laughing. But I could tell they were all because of her and I. "What's your name?" I asked.

"Y/N," She whispered.

"Oh nice name, I'm S-"

"Shawn. I-I know," She looked at the ground. "Uh we have a few classes together. Since l-like fourth grade," She stated. I felt guilt hit me. I didn't even know her name.

"Oh," I bit my lip.

"Look y-you can go back to y-your friends because this bet or dare o-or whatever the reason you were forced over here i-is done," She grabbed her books and rushed out of the cafeteria. I wasn't hurt that she snapped at me and left.

I was hurt because

She can't have a conversation with someone without thinking it's a joke.
