Shawn's POV

I was walking down the sidewalk as I warily made my way home from work. I went over how angry I was at my car for deciding to break down. I was seven blocks away from home when I heard a scream.

What was that?

But there was another one.

I started to jog towards the cries. Worry and fear started to bubble inside me.

Finally I got to a alley way.

Where there was a girl on the ground, and a man beating her.

My eyes widened and I shouted at him. I quickly moved my feet to them. The girl lifted her head when he kicked in into the cement. I gasped and let my anger control. He glanced at me and I punched him square in the nose. He fell.

"Don't you dare hurt her!" I yelled and punched him again in the jaw. This time he was knocked out. I glanced at the girl. She had bruises and cuts all over. She had a T-shirt on and some shorts. She looked beautiful even in the state she was. I shook myself out of my daze and scooped her up. The side of her head was covered in blood. It glistened in the street lights glow. I ran as fast as I could to my house. She laid out cold in my arms. I finally got to my steps.

"You're safe I promise," I whispered. I got into my house and placed her on the couch. I took off my shirt that now had blood on it and tossed it onto my chair. I rushed to the kitchen to grab a rag, two bottles of water, a blanket and a first aid kit. I walked over to the couch and tried to wash the cuts clean and bandage them (or the best I could) the face was difficult. I moved the rag gently on her cheek and wiped the pebbles and dried blood away. She truly was gorgeous. She looked so peaceful. She would probably think I kidnapped her or something and freak out when she woke. I placed the blanket over her and sat down in the chair as millions of questions filled my brain.

Who is she?

Why was she beaten?

Who is the man?

Was it the first time?

Would it be the last...

I sat there and waited for her to wake. Every now and then I would check her pulse and make she sure she was alive and I changed the bandages once. It was now 5 am. Still pitch black outdoors. I am sure the man woke up. He didn't look too much older than me. She looked my age. My guess was he was her boyfriend. I wondered if he would try to track me down. I wasn't worried about fighting him. I was worried for this girls safety though. I would call police to set a report once this girl would wake up so I could get more info and his name.

If she would wake.

She took a hard beating. I hope she would wake though, I want to know this girl. I want to protect this girl.

I want to save this girl.
