Fools

We were fools.

We were fools for thinking this would work.

"Damn Shawn why did you have to lock the door!" His dad roared as he barged into the house. My eyes widened. I think the only thing in my head at the moment was fear. Or I wasn't thinking at all. Shawn grabbed my wrist. Opened up the window and shoved me out. His bedroom door opened. I jumped out, rolling as I hit the ground. I winced. Then hid against the wall. "What the-" I ran for my life. I pumped my arms and sprinted as fast as my legs could possibly take me. Fear. Fear is not knowing.

Fear controlled me.

Fear for me. Fear for Shawn. Fear for us.

Damn we were fools for thinking this would work.

A week later

"Shawn what i-" I tried to reason.

"Go away now!" He yelled. I tried to touch his shoulder but he swiped it quickly. "I need you to go now Y/N," He said in a rush. We were outside his house. We haven't talked since the incident. He wouldn't answer my phone calls. So I came to find out if he was okay. He quickly pushed me away from him.

And with it he pulled my heart to him.

And it was broken at the moment of time.

Another Few Days After That

I was walking down the sidewalk. Thinking. About the sky. About Shawn. About life.

About not life.

Then I heard laughing. I glanced up. And then he was. The fabulous Shawn Mendes.

Holding hands with another girl. I bit my lip. I think what was possibly left of my heart was taken away at that moment. He glanced at me then at her and looked forward. I passed him. His cologne bringing a million memories. I wanted to soak in. Everything about him. I shook my head as tears brimmed my eyes and I walked away from him. I was stupid for loving him. This was all a mistake. He doesn't love me anymore. I'm nothing.

"Only fools fall for you," I whispered and kept walking.

"It was her!" He screamed. And he shoved me onto my bed. My eyes widened. Almost out of my skull. "I told you how I felt about her son!" He roared. His voice echoing with power, bouncing off of the walls.

"No," I tried to say.

"If I see you with her again I will kill you and I will hurt her too understand!"
