Your POV

I stood from my kneeling position at my locker. I grabbed my books and closed my locker. I turned and jumped. My heart almost falling out of my chest. Shawn stood.

"Oh sorry. Didn't mean to scare you," He said. I was thinking two things at the moment. One) oh well you did a good job at that, and Two) how long would this bet last?

"I-Its okay," I replied. I felt like an idiot. People looking at me moot then usual as I stuttered (like usual) in front of a popular.

"Can I walk with you to class. I mean we have it together," He said. Wait he actually noticed me before he was dared to talk to me? Wait I'm not invisible and he has special glasses to see me? I nodded. And started to walk with him down the hall. I starred at my feet. Feeling extremely anxious. Anxiety clawed at my insides. Begging me to run and hide. "What's your favorite subject?", He said casually.

"English," I said. I bit my lip afterwards.

"That's cool. Mines is math," He beamed. I smiled. "So satin does smile?" He teased.

"I'm not s-satin!" I defended. He laughed. Maybe he wasn't so bad. But how long would this niceness last before he got his money and left. Or realized how much shit he just got in.

*a week later*

He sat with me at lunch again. Like every other day. I found it weird he never asked about my stutter or my 'obsession' with rain (since everyone does). He just made me laugh and talked about interesting things. I loved having a friend for once.

"Let's skip," He said. I glanced at him. I shook my head.

"I-i can't,"

"All we have is a elective and one class. Come on it will be fun," He said. I thought. Maybe it was time to crawl out of my shell a little bit. It's not like my home will care. We walked out of the school and to his car. Wait is he a axe murderer? I shook my head. Stop worrying so much.

We drove, his radio blasting as he sang to the catchy tunes. Me, I don't sing but I watched him. It made me smile to see him so silly.

"W-where are we going?" I asked.

"My getaway," Okay he is a Axe murder. Go run now. I nodded. The dark clouds surrounding Shawn's little car. I watched the corn fields as we pasted them. It had been twenty minutes.

Then we reached a dirt area. Right by the woods. Great you are going to get killed in the middle of nowhere. Good job Y/N.

"Just follow me. You can trust me," Shawn got out of the car. I didn't know how to respond. I can't trust anyone. But this one guy who seemed to give up his friends and everything for me made my head spin in confusion. Maybe just this once I could trust him.

We walked for a couple minutes, the leaves crinkling under my shoes.

We finally got to a cliff. It wasn't too tall, maybe 20 feet or so. It overlooked a lake. It wasn't too big. The lake was surrounded by woods. It was breathtaking.

"This is b-beautiful," I said.

"Like you," I glanced at him to see him smiling. I blushed. Then faced the lake. "Y/N, you don't have to tell me. But why do you like rain?" He asked. "Its so depressing,"

Maybe it was time to tell him. I can trust him. I know so. So I told him.
