After casting a rough detection spell, I saw that the palace was unusually full of guards and high-level soldiers.

The Knight Commander was there...but not on our side...unfortunately, that's what I feared most of all.

We were the "bad ones" but that didn't make the enchantress a rose without thorns. Plus she wants me dead for example for those who have the idea of being in their way.

With my dragon's eye, combined with the detection spell, amplified by my levels I understood that the castle was completely taken and that there was no escape.

More and more guards, at least a hundred of them, were approaching in groups, searching the palace from top to bottom, looking for hidden nobles or simply household staff. No one would be spared. Good or bad, it was a "Purge", an "example".

The new witch would be born in blood..or her own.

The guards were all in full armor and only their chins were visible, their eyes hidden behind a visor, giving them an even more ferocious look.

They now had a red cloak and the crest of the Enchantress, a golden griffin.

No wonder she doesn't like us... well, that's what I think. But I am a dragon and I am stubborn by nature.

The poor princess was at the end of her rope, but that wasn't the end of our problems. They were just beginning.

She clutched at my scales as she searched for a father or male figure in me to protect her.

"There is no doubt that now that there is only you left of the family, they will all try to kill you.

You're just an obstacle to their ambitions. And me too, even worse, they have my parents as hostages."

Princess: "Why did the Commander betray us?"

"From the taste of his blood, he must have been a family member a cousin or a brother who was ousted... No wonder he wants to take over."

"You have a choice now... run away, get revenge and take back what has been taken from you all your life!"

I had a small smile and then the princess stepped forward looking me in the eyes:" I don't want to die like this. We have to survive!"

I was proud of her because she also proved that she was strong.

Then Zalar "Can I interrupt you? Mir. You owe me a fight! En garde!"

Chlorophyll stood in front of me, arms outstretched. "Why, Zalar?

No one betrayed you..."

"Yes, they did! Him!!! And I really want to fight a dragon. And the scenery is great!"

Me:" Zalar... I'm not a hero! I'm just a young wyvern... I have some mage spells... Help and protect your princess!"

Zalar: "She's not my princess! I hate you all! Especially the nobility and those fat pigs lying in their blood."

Me: "Spiritual sword / Haste / Shield."

He finished his sentence with a violent arc over me as I ejected the princess to the side.

"Princess, run away through the service corridors and put yourself in a cul de sac"

Indeed, this is the best way to entrench yourself and avoid an attack from behind.

Taking advantage of my distraction, he jumped at my head and I received a terrible kick to the jaw.

A thin stream of blood flowed from my mouth, teeth had probably cut my cheek on impact.
