|28| "Lee's. Meet the Moore's"

"You're gonna get a good sleep, and when you wake up you'll be all better" I murmur into his hair

"I hope so", Miles mumbles

"You take your medicine?"

He nods and I smile as I tuck him in, "Watch. That flu will disappear just like magic"

Miles smiles as he lies down on his side

"Alright now gimme some" I reach out my fist and he spuds it before yawning

"Good night Dakota"

"Good night sweetie", I say softly

He coughs a little as I get up

Treyton was waiting by the door with his arms folded and an appreciative smile on his face, "You're good with him. He loves you"

I switch off the light, "I have that affect on people"

We decided we'll just stay over since we're both too tired to go back home. We're staying in Treyton's old room which consists of a double bed, a bathroom and of course, plain grey walls and a clock that no longer works. Oh and also his wardrobe of old clothes, I'm using them as my pyjamas.

I drag Treyton up to the third floor, "Come on. I can see how tired you are"

"I'm not that tired"

"Baby you're fighting sleep. I can see it" 

"Ok yeah just a little bit", He admits

"Exactly"

We hear a distant knock, actually I'm not sure if Treyton heard it with him being too tired to process anything. The knock sounds again followed by a bell, "Who's that?"

"Probably your mom, I'll get it. Go up, I'm coming" I usher him away

"If you're not up in a minute I'm coming down there"

I wave him off as I head down the stairs, "Yeah yeah"

The house was literally quiet and the only sound was coming from Ivy's room, I could hear her tv. If it were Ashley at the door then surely she would have her key, Grayson too. I quickly tie my hair back before opening the door, "Wow Mrs Lee you must be really-

"Dakota"

I frown, "Aunt V?"

She's stood at the door with uncle Tyler, Zuri and the twins. Before I can even ask any questions aunt V pulls me into a hug right away, "Oh my baby" She murmurs into my shoulder

"Everything ok?"

"No, everything is not ok" Tyler replies

"I told them", Zuri reminds me

Oh right

Aunt Veronica pulls away before assessing me so suddenly, "D why wouldn't you say something? You can tell me anything even if it's about my brother. My psychotic brother" She scoffs

"I don't know I just-... yeah"

She holds up my chin with sympathy, "Oh honey. You are the bravest girl I know"

I smile softly, "Thanks"

"Hi Dakota!" Jeanie runs up the porch steps before jumping into my arms and I catch her with surprise

"Hi baby, where's Jamie?"

"Hi", Her twin comes out of hiding from behind his dads leg. After all Jamie is the shy one out of the two.

"Mama said you were sick, you don't look very sick", Jeanie frowns

I smile a little, "I was but I'm ok now"
