•Lilian's POV•

"Hey, I was wondering if you might want to meet April, we could have dinner together,"

"Do you really like her?"

"Yes, I do,"

"Then sure, can we have pizza?"

"Absolutely, Do you want to invite Chase? Might be nice to get to know him better,"

"That'll be nice, I'll go text him."

"Ok, ask him what kind of pizza he likes,"

"Pepperoni with extra cheese," I answer.

"Ah, ok thanks,"

Dinner with my dad's new 'girlfriend'-I don't know what she is yet.

Whatever it is, it's not how I thought my evening was going to go.

Me: What are you doing tonight?

Chase: Nothing why?

Me: You want to come over for dinner?
Me: My dad's new girlfriend is coming for dinner.

Chase: So you need backup.

Me: No
Me: We're having pizza.

Chase: I'll be there.

Me: Only for the pizza right?

Chase: Nah I was already telling my mom where I was going.

Me: Ah ok, see you soon.

Chase: 20 minutes tops.

I hope she's nice.

She probably is or else dad wouldn't like her.

Oh god.

What if this turns into some Cinderella story.

I don't have time to deal with an evil stepmother that locks me in the attic.

You need to stop thinking about the negative, when has that ever helped you?

Even though this isn't a fancy dinner I want to make a good impression so I change into a nicer outfit than the sweatpants and sweater I was wearing better.

I don't want to dress too fancy but also want to look presentable, I decide on a black long sleeve body suit and blue mom jeans.

"April meet my daughter Lilian," Dad introduces her to me.

She's very pretty, I can see why he likes her. She has long black hair and dark brown eyes. She wearing a nice dark green blouse and blue skinny jeans.

"It's nice to meet you," I extended my hand to shake hers.

"Same, I've heard so much about you. Your dad talks very highly of you," she compliments.

So far she's passing the test.

"I think Chase is here," dad said peeking out the door.

"Chase?" April asked confused.

"Oh right, my son-in-law." He states.

"Dad?! He's not your-no we're not actually-," I start.

"It's ok you don't have to explain, I understand," April reassures.

"Do you go around telling people that?" I ask facing my dad again.

"Nooo," he lies unconvincingly swiping his hand in the air.
