Anirudh watches Saudamini standing outside her house buying some jewellery from a vendor. He goes and clears his throat to get her attention. Saudamini shyly nods goes with him. They walk in the Roy Choudhury's garden and sit on a bench. Anirudh finds it tough to voice out his thoughts after he sees Saudamini getting all blushing and shying. He said sternly," Saudamini, I won't beat around the bush. Mai yeh shadi nhi karna chahta." Saudamini watches him with an amused expression and says," Tum mujhse vivaah nhi karna chahte, kaisa mazaak hai yeh Anirudh?" Anirudh face palms himself and says, "Saudamini yeh mazaak nhi hai. Mai abhi shadi ke liye taiyaar nhi hu." She questions him mockingly," Kyu taiyaar nhi ho tum shadi ke liye?" Before he could discuss his main motive of returning back from London a post man came to deliver letters.
He takes the letter and tries to rummage to seperate his letter. One of the letter falls and is picked up by Saudamini, she says," Yeh kiska patr hai, ispar tumhara naam nhi likha, aur yaha ka pata bhi nhi hai. Lagta hai kisi aur ka hai." She tries to open the letter when Anirudh says, "Kya kar rahi ho? Iss tarah se kisika patr nahi padhna chahiye." Saudamini says," Kisika matlab kya? Hamare paas aya hai matlab Durga ma bhi chahti thi ki yeh khat hame mile. Dekhne do." She reads out loud,
Priya Hone wale ya na hone wale Pati Babu,
Saudamini scoffs and she is about to throw the letter but Anirudh snatches it from her hand. He reads the letter loudly. He chuckles on seeing how the letter is addressed. He gets curious as to know what more the letter holds.
Aapka aur mera vivaah hone wala hai, par meri vivaah se pehle ek shart hai. Aapse umeed rahegi ki aap iss shart ke baare mai ghar par kisi ko nahi batayenge. Mama ne bataya hai ki aap bohot achhe hai. Itni si baat toh manenge na meri? Kya hai na yadi mami ko pata chal gaya ki maine apko patr likha hai, woh bhi shart wala, toh mai toh gai.
Anirudh giggles on hearing the content. He found it cute how she got engaged in another topic even while writing the letter. He read further
Waise baki baaton ko kone mai rakh kar shart ki aur aate hai. Shart yeh hai ki Mai apse vivaah tab hi karungi jab aap mujhe meri aage ki padhai puri karne denge. Jaanti hu iski ijazat leni nhi chahiye mujhe, kyuki hak hai yeh mera. Parantu kya karu shadi ke baad mai akeli pad jaungi, halanki abhi bhi mai akeli hi hu, mama mami dete hai kya mera sath? Isliye aapko bata rahi hu, ki mai vivaah ke baad padhungi, bhale hi koi mana kar de. Yadi aapko yeh shart manzur ho toh ek handi roshgolla bhej dena, aur yadi nahi toh ek handi mirchi bhej dena.

He tries to find whether the name was written. He grins and looks at Saudamini who had an irritated expression on her face. He says," Yadi sabhi ladkiya iss ladki jaisi mansikta rakh le toh iss desh mai koi aurat ko daba nhi sakta." Saudamini scoffs and says," Yeh khyaal sirf angrezi mahilao ko shobha deta hai, bharat mai aaj bhi ladkiyo ko saral aur suljhe vyavahar ka hona chahiye. Achha hai yeh chitti nhi pohochi uske pati ke paas, warna woh kabka rishta tod deta. Sochta ya toh ladki pagal hai ya ahankari hai" Anirudh frowns on hearing Saudamini and says," Kyu tod deta vivaah? Yeh toh achhi baat hai ki uski patni nidar hai, padhna chahti hai, samaj ki rudhiwadi paramparao se pare hai. Woh yeh bhi toh soch sakta tha na ki woh ladki bohot sahsi aur samajhdar hai." Saudamini says mockingly," Agar yeh tumhari hone wali patni hoti, aur tumhe esa khat likhti toh tumhe pata chalta." Anirudh smiled looking at the letter and says," Agar yeh meri patni hoti toh mai bhi iske saamne shart rakhta ki, woh iss samaj ke saamne nidar hokar apne hak mange. Mai iska haath thaamta, har raste par saath deta aur saath nibhata. Ise padhata likhata aur itna kabil banata ki isse kisike Sahare ki zarurat padhti. Iske saath milkar apne sapne ko pura karta." Saudamini gets angry and goes back to her room. Anirudh takes the letter with him and keeps it in his almirah's drawer neatly folded.
On the other side, Bondita waits for a reply but was sad on not getting one. Sampoorna encourages her to uphold her spirit but all in vain.
Anirudh was skeptical whether he should reply or not. He decides on replying to the letter or else the girl would hope for a reply and might get married to the wrong person. He sits in his study and takes a fresh paper and pens down his thoughts.
Dear,
I am Anirudh Roy Choudhury, I have received your letter. I appreciate your courage, you are a very courageous and strong minded girl. If every girl adopts a mentality like you and then that time is not far when girls will be actually valued. I want to tell you that I am very happy on receiving your letter. I know it was not adressed to me, but still I am sending it to you, not one but 8 handis of roshgolla as a present. I will try my best to post your letter to your husband.

He was so immersed in writing the letter that he didn't notice Saudamini entering his study. She snatches the letter and reads it. A amused expression covers her face and she smirks. She says," Jis ladki ko tum patr likhne jaa rahe ho, use aati bhi hogi angrezi, sab ladkiya meri jaisi padhi likhi thodi na hoti hai." Before Anirudh could say anything they heard a hustle bustle outside. They see that Saudamini's Baba has come with lots of sweets and fruits. He hands it over to Anirudh's Kaka and pats Anirudh's cheek. He sits beside Binoy and says, "Binoy, jese ki hamne tay kiya tha, mai chahta hu ki hamare bachho ki parso sagai ho jaye. Isliye mai yeh fal aur mithai laya hu." Shubhra( A/N - Yes guys she is alive, she only convinced Anirudh to marry Saudamini for her husband, though she knew how Saudamini was.) and Trilochan exchange worried glances. They had to agree for Binoy's happiness. Meanwhile Saudamini has a big smile etched on her face as her dream of living a lavish and comfortable life in London is about to get completed. Anirudh leaves the hall in anger.
