Calliope and Dean walk into the main area to see Sam's on the phone, "No, nobody here by that name, sorry" he says as he hangs up the phone and looks over at them, "So I've been checking through everything again, double-checking and triple-checking." Sam says to them. "The Mark is a curse" Dean then says to him. "Yeah, tell me about it" Sam says as he types on the computer.
"No, Sam, what Dean means is that it is an actual curse" Calliope says to Sam. Sam looks over at Calliope and Dean, confused, "What are you talking about?" he asks. "Crowley told us. Or rather, Rowena told him after she tried and failed to kill me" Dean says to Sam.
"What the hell happened?" Sam asks. "The Mark protect me" Dean says as he and Calliope sit down, "Rowena doesn't really have beef with me. She's pissed at Crowley because she thinks he's going soft" "She's not wrong" Sam comments.
"Yeah, well...after he and mommy dearest got into a fight—" "Mommy Dearest?" Sam asks Dean. "Here's the kicker, Rowena's Crowley's mother" Calliope tells Sam, who has another confused look on his face.
"More about that later. So, then he came and told us what she had said. The Mark is an actual curse. So, anyway, I'm sorry. We probably should've told you that." Dean says to Sam, who just looks at the two of them. Just then Sam's cell starts to ring, and Dean goes for it, as Sam tries to grab it quickly, "Winchester accounting, how may I help you?" Dean answers the phone. "Charlie? What's going on? Where are you?" Dean says and both Sam and Calliope indicate to Dean to put it on speaker.
"I didn't think these existed outside of Bill and Ted's-"they hear Charlie saying. "Okay, hey, hey. Take a deep breath, kiddo. We're both sitting here, along with Callie. Tell me what happened. Why are you bleeding?" Dean asks her.

"I, uh, I got shot. Did you know dental floss works great on stitches? I only passed out twice. And I'm pretty sure my wound is now minty-fresh." Charlie tells them. "Charlie, you probably need to go to a hospital." Sam tells her. "No, no, I'm fine. I just gotta get someplace safe. These guys are still after me" Charlie tells them.
"What guys? Who?" Calliope asks her. "Some southern-fried D-bags. They've been after me since I dug up the Book of The Damned" Charlie says. "You found it? Where?" Sam asks her. "After some near misses and some broken-into museums.... I found some historical documents that lead to a monastery in Spain. It burned down years ago. Left for dead. But I have this hunch about it. Turned out I was right" they listen to Charlie explain to them.
"Charlie, what does it say about the Mark?" Dean asks her. "I have no fracking idea. The language it's written in, I've never seen anything like it. I, uh, I found some research notes in the monastery crypt thought, by the friar that buried it. The Book Of The Damned is a spell book or creating or undoing... any kind of damnation there is." She says this and all three of them look at one another. "We translate this thing... I think we can get the Mark of Cain of you, Dean."
