A miracle is a shift in thinking
from what we might have done
in the past, or should be doing
in the future, to what we feel
free to do right here, right now.

~ Marianne Williamson

Within us is the unborn possibility
of limitless experience. Ours is
the privilege of giving birth to it !

~ Ernest Holmes

Astrologically Pisces is a sign of completion and the last of 12 that we pass through each year. It is 2013 as I write this essay and we have passed through 2012 and are thankfully still here, in spite of a diversity of predictions about that year which were beyond the ordinary, and which certainly made it a year that I for one will never forget. As Pisces comes to an end this year, it is interesting to see 7 entities (the Sun and the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Neptune and Chiron) cluster to say goodbye to the astrological year as it goes out with a bang. Today is also a New Moon and with that we shift into the fiery sign of Aries which ushers in the rapid new growth and birthing of Spring. Mercury has been retrograde for awhile now and will remain so until the 17th and thankfully that is not all that much longer.

One of my favorite authors steeped in the Science of Mind philosophy is the Rev Jesse Jennings of Houston Texas. This month in this 2013 year he answered a question about this philosophy's perspective on astrology. He replied – "we do not condemn those who practice it, nor is it a part of our teaching". He admits to some interest in aspects of it. It is after all an ancient practice. Naturally everything in the cosmos has a relationship to everything else out there. There are forces to big planetary bodies – like gravity for example. Predictive astrology is subject to individual interpretation but it is surprising how many astrologers will interpret the positions of the planets similarly. I prefer the ones who apply personal growth insights to their predictions. There are 3 at this moment whose insights I enjoy entertaining and they each trend in a similar direction affirming the energies for us all in doing so.

Metaphysically I never dismiss it. I find the strongest validation for various personality traits and planetary influences that affect all people colored by the individual signs. Whatever people "believe" is going to have some manifestation and impact even if the cause is not what they are believing it is. Such were the predictions regarding the year 2012. I gave them weight because metaphysically I knew it was going to have an impact on human evolution and I still believe that it has. We were reminded once again that the worst that we might fear usually does not come to pass. Our desires for annihilation are never that strong so as to attract it. If there has been an end to anything it is an end to some naivete regarding government and finance and regarding general beliefs in "end of the world" predictions. For some people there may now be less belief that a savior in the form of extraterrestrials is going to come down from the sky and make all things new for humans and our planet Earth.

I like that the Science of Mind philosophy expects that anything can change and many things will indeed change but that we can chart the course for our own destiny by where we place our focus. There is deep truth in this teaching. Certainly I take seriously what a mass of humanity is believing about whatever because that mass of energy has an effect to it. Therefore it can be helpful to receive "outer" information that can inform our inner self to get ready and choose its own response to such things. There is also a momentum that continues to have its effects based upon our experiences, our local circumstances and our prior choices. One does not usually turn the big ship of a lifetime accumulation very quickly but given enough time to do so it can be turned quite intentionally.

The New Moon today is the still point of energetic shift from one ending into the new beginning. From Pisces to Aries. Many of us have felt sluggish with the end of Pisces (and this 2013 year was heavy with so many influences piled into it) and when Mercury is in its Retrograde phase many people take notice. And so as it is with many New Moons we are encouraged to stop at some point around mid-day and restart with a course correction that establishes a new intention going forward into whichever turning point your geographical location suggests for this time, whether that is towards Spring and new growth or Autumn and a Winter's rest. A New Moon is always good reminder that we control the course of our lives by where we place our focus.

If we are fearful or if we put our focus on lack and limitation or if we are always grateful for everything just as it is – whether difficult or easy – or if we chose being a victim of what's out there – our perspective will guide our future experiences. Whether we give other people a compassionate benefit of the best interpretation or whether we are jealous and resent another person's success or should we find that forgiveness of their humanity is difficult for our self to extend – each choice effects what we experience next. Whether we prefer peaceful harmony or want the drama of stimulation – every one of these "colors" are going to affect what we will find ourselves experiencing next. There are many choices presented to us each day. And each choice is made individually based upon subjective perspectives but every choice has an impact. Therefore I suggest to you my readers that you do choose wisely based upon what your heart and mind would prefer to experience. Expect the best !! You will then see it emerge from the mists of time into your now moment – given faith, expectation and some earthly time in which to manifest itself.

~ perspective

I realize that I filter every word
I hear or read through my mind
and I interpret whatever is happening
subjectively depending upon my beliefs,
programming, experiences and preferences.
In response to the events of the past
I can surrender to the basics of what
has been or I can chose new ways of
responding that may bring better
outcomes tomorrow.
If I feel stuck in some aspect I can
consider what I can do about that
and if there is something, I should do it
and if there is nothing I can do accept it.
When I feel tired and depleted I can
give my self the gift of rest and return
later to the processes of living –
refreshed and restored in energetic
qualities for responding.
By making choices I nurture the
instinctive and intuitive aspects of
my nature and as I consider the
outcomes of my choices I can judge
whether these were somehow diverted
by the beliefs of others or did I
indeed follow my own freedom to choose
and did I find fulfillment and satisfaction
in the results or do I choose a
different way next time.
