Chapter 26: Catch Me

Keep it sweet, keep it slow
Let the future pass and don't let go
But tonight I could fall too soon into this beautiful moonlight

But you're so hypnotizing
You've got me laughing while I sing
You've got me smiling in my sleep
And I can see this unraveling
Your love is where I'm falling
But please don't catch me...

Rosily stood in stage being interviewed while I waited for the okay to go on stage for the performance. I requested to stay backstage even though Rosily asked if I would join her for the interview. This is her time to shine, not mine. Finally, they introduced our performance and I walked on stage with my microphone in hand. Please don’t let me forget the choreography now. I waited for the music to start and started counting so I knew when to start singing.

Alone in a room,
and an empty hallway.
I can’t feel,
the way they tell me.
My mind is different
it feels isolated.

Over and over
and over again.
The same thing keeps repeating.
Save me from my mind,
save me from these four walls.

Ah, ah, la, la,
da, da, da, da
over and over again.

I can’t decorate these walls
to make them seem happy.
Just one picture sitting down
on the lonely table.
Alone in a room,
with a dozen people.

Over and over again.
the same thing keeps repeating.
Save me from my mind,
save me from these four walls.

Ah, ah, la, la
da, da, da, da.

Does it get better,
as the time goes on?
Does my brain learn
I’m not so isolated?

Does someone save me
or do I save myself?

Over and over
and over again.
Save me, save me,
Save me from my mind.

Oh, my poor mind.
Just save me now.

Ah, ah, la, la
da, da, da, da
over again.

Rosily held my hand as we finished and we bowed once to the audience as they clapped. I put my arm around her and we hugged before getting off stage.

“How do you feel?” she asked me.

I smiled, “I’ve never done anything like that before. It was incredible!”

She laughed, “I thought you’d like it.”

“Does it always feel like this?”

She nodded.

“Thank you for asking me to do this.”

“My pleasure,” she smiled. “Enjoy it because you deserve it.”

I hugged her again, “You’re the best.”

“I know,” she laughed.

“I should go,” I pulled away, “Text me ahead of time for the next performance okay?”
