Isaac POV*

"You, come with me." Suddenly Lukas burst into the room, focusing all his attention on me.

I looked up at the door confused. He stopped and looked between us confused.

"I'm sorry, did I interrupt something?" He asked awkwardly.

I looked over at Marc as if to ask if he wanted to talk about it more, but he just waved it away.

"Nah, your good, we were done here anyway-" he said to Lukas.

I looked over at Lukas before hesitantly getting up and walking toward him. He smiled brightly as he told me to follow him.

I went back to the room with him. He excitedly walked in, turning to face me.

"So what is it?" I couldn't help but laugh at his excitement.

"Right," he started. "So remember last time, when Aubrey was showing off her little 'skill' she had?" He asked.

I wasn't quite sure what he meant. "Which time?" I joked.

"The one where she showed her 'ears'" he explained.

"Well, kind of. She ran off before I could look at it, to be honest." I said as I walked away and took a seat on the bed.

He turned to me, smiling brightly. "Okay- well check this out."

He took a step back, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath as he started to focus. I watched confused as he stood there quietly for a bit.

Suddenly, just like with Aubrey last time, two wolf ears popped up on his head. I sat up surprised.

He slowly opened his eyes again. "Did. Did it work?" He asked nervously. I nodded. I didn't know what to say. His eyes lid up as he brought his hands up to his head, searching for the ears.

When he felt time his face turned into a bright smile. He moved up and down, almost like he was doing a little victory dance. "I told you I had some control now."

I let pit an awkward laugh, not sure how to react.

There was something about it that made me feel weird. It was t that he looked weird, he didn't. He looked good, maybe a little too good.

I didn't notice him getting closer until he appeared right in front of my face. "Hello? You still here?" He smiled, pulling me out of my thoughts.

I leaned back as I tried to compose myself. I felt my face burn up, and I was sure it had turned bright red.

"Sorry- what did you say?" I smiled awkwardly. He let out a laugh. "I was just asking what you think." He sat down next to me.

"Oh. Well. It's nice." I said, "it's good that you have enough control to the point you can choose what to show," I smiled.

He looked down at me proudly. His ears seemed to move with his emotions, reminding me of a dog. I looked at the more closely as he happily looked back at me.

"How long did it take you to get them to show up," I asked. He looked away, almost embarrassed. "To be honest, this is the first time it worked," he smiled. "Oh really..."

"So do you know how to get rid of them then," I said as I started to reach up to touch them. He flinched before I could, and looked down at me shocked.
"I- no." He said. I pulled my hand away.

I couldn't help but laugh a little, "are you serious?" I asked. He nodded. "I- have no idea how I even got them to appear." He continued. He reached up and put his hands over them, before removing them again. As if to try and push them back into his head. He tried a few times before giving up.

He let out a defeated sigh. "Maybe you should ask Aubrey," I suggested. "She seems to know what to do."

He turned to me, "you have a point, but" he sighed. "It's gonna be so embarrassing to ask." He put his head in his hands.

"Yeah, maybe. But maybe when she tells you how you have full control yourself... over your ears that is." I tried to reassure him.

"And you won't be stuck looking like that," I added. Although, I wouldn't mind that.

He took a breath as he sat up. "You're right. Let's go." He got up and made his way to the front. Me following shortly behind.

As he reached the door he swung it open and yelled into the church.

"Sister! I need your help!"

Marc looked up from his work confused. Aubrey wasn't in the church when he yelled, but a few seconds later she appeared from the room.

"What do you want now- oh." He stopped when she realized what he looked like. "Oh my god, you did it." She excitedly walked up to us. "How did you get that so fast?" She asked as she looked from him to me.

I shrugged. "Don't ask me." I laughed.

"Yeah, it is pretty cool." He smiled awkwardly. "Just one problem." He scratched the back of his head. She looked up at him confused.

She must've somehow figured it out as she suddenly started laughing. Lukas stared at him unamused until she stopped laughing. "Finished?" He asked.

"Sorry-" he said catching her breath. "Just- don't tell me they got stuck." She giggled. Lukas looked down at her blankly. She almost started laughing again. "It's not funny." He stopped her, speaking a little louder.

She stood up and composed herself. "Right, sorry."

"So can you please help me get rid of them?" He asked, crossing his arms. "Hmm I don't know I kind of like this look for you," she joked, but Lukas wasn't laughing.

"I'm kidding!" She smiled, "come on, ill tell you what to do." She said as she gestured to him to go to her room. He nodded his head as he walked off. "Thank you,"

Aubrey turned to me, giving me a big smile, "thank you," she said suddenly. I looked back at her confused, "for what?" I asked. "You don't know but you're helping him a lot." She explained. "I'm not sure what you mean." I looked away.

"There a lot he wouldn't have been able to do if it weren't for you." She continued. I looked back at her. "You don't have to agree with me. I just wanted to thank you." She gave me a playful push before leaving to join Lukas.

I guess I kind of understand what she meant by all of that. But she was also right about me not agreeing. Not fully at least...
