Chapter Forty-One

Tyler carries Caroline into the living room and lays her down on the floor. Klaus turns around. Looking away from Cassie who is now sitting in between Klaus and Astrid her head laying over on her older sister a blank look on her face

Tyler looks at Klaus "You want to be in control, Klaus? Here. Now you get to be in control of her life. If you want her to die, fine. But then you can sit here and watch her die yourself. Tyler leaves the house.

Caroline looks up at Klaus, who approaches her. "Nothing personal, love. If I cure you, that means victory for him. Don't worry. It won't be long now." Caroline, breathing heavily, closes her eyes.

Astrid looks at her sister "hey, I'm gonna go and get you some food, I need you to try and eat something okay Cass?"

She nods still looking blankly ahead "okay" Astrid sighs and leans over kissing her sister on the head "I'll be back in a few minutes" she gets up and leaves the house.

Caroline is lying on the sofa, breathing raspingly. Klaus stands across the room. "If you don't feed me your blood, I'll die."

Klaus doesn't look at her his eyes on Cassie "Then you'll die, and Tyler will have learned his lesson the hard way."

"How could you do this to him? To his mom? To me?"

Klaus looks at her "I'm a thousand years old. Call it boredom."

"I don't believe you."

He shrugs "Fine. Then maybe it's because I'm pure evil, and I can't help myself."

"It's because you were hurt. Which means that there is a part of you that is human."

Klaus approaches her and sits on the table next to the sofa. "How could you possibly think that?"

Cassie closes her eyes for a moment before speaking "heal her." They both looked at her, Caroline smiled slightly at her sister, "Nik, please, she's my baby sister... I can't lose her too, so just heal her for me."

The original hybrid looked at his best friend and nodded "okay, Cass, but I'm only doing this for you."

Caroline's breathing is labored then weak and fading and Klaus lifts Caroline into a sitting position, sits behind her, bites open his wrist and puts it to her mouth and she starts drinking. Klaus smooths her hair as she regains strength and continues to drink.

Caroline sits up looking at Cassie, she chose to get up and sit beside her sister "thanks Cass," the younger blonde laid her head on her sister's shoulder, and Cassie laid her head against Caroline's.

"Of course Care, you're my baby sister and I love you." Caroline smiled at the older blonde as Astrid walks back into the house with a bag of takeout from the grill. "love you too Cass." internally the younger blonde was kicking herself for not being quick enough to warn her sister, it would have saved her so much pain but she can't change it now, so now the only thing that she can do it be there for her sister.

Astrid gave her sister a look "alright Cass here you go I got you two cheeseburgers extra bacon just the way you like them with a side of cheese fries sprinkled in bacon."

She hands the bag to her little sister, who shoots her a small smile "thanks, sissy."

Astrid smiles kissing her on the head and sitting down on the other side of her "of course baby, I gotta look out for you because lord knows if someone found out that you weren't eating and I didn't do something about it well my ass would be getting kicked and I'd probably get turned into a damn cat again that was not fun."

Cassie cracks a small smile at her sister before getting the food out of the bag "yeah uncle Loki may adore the both of us but that does not get us passes on the pranks that get pulled when we annoy him too much" Cassie starts eating one of the burgers as Astrid laughs.

"That's so true, but prank wars with uncle Loki are always a blast"

Cassie nods as she continues to eat the food Astrid brought her "they are and it usually ends in the three of us teaming up and pranking dad."

Astrid smiles "that it does baby that it does, feel a little better now that you have some food in you?"

Cassie sighs "I guess... I don't know, I don't really feel much different, I still feel empty with this aching pain in my chest, that I'm going to have to get used to."

Astrid pulls her into a hug. "I know this is going to be a hard adjustment baby but I'm not gonna leave you, I promise I'm always gonna be there when you need me... Cass, you're my baby sister and I love you so much that I would do anything to be able to take this pain away from you so that you don't have to feel it but I know I can't do that, no matter how much I want to."

Cassie looks at the older blonde with a slight smile "I love you too sissy."

Astrid smiles at her "why don't you get some rest?" Cassie nods and lays her head in Astrid's lap the older blonde smiling and playing with Cassie's hair helping her fall asleep.

I love Castrid's relationship so much, I gave them a brotp ship name XD and yes Astrid calls her sister baby and I think you guys will like what I have in store for Cassie getting her vengeance for Kol's death. It will change the way everything happens afterward but only in TVD. TO will happen the way it's supposed to for the most part there will be a few minor differences.
