"Boys", Jack says loudly, grabbing Spot and Davey's attention. "Today is the day I defeat you in Mario Kart 8."

Spot chuckled as Davey folded the corner of his book, placing it down beside him. "Is that right?"

"It is", Jack declares, placing his hands on his hips. "You both are gonna cry in defeat when we're done."

"Baby, you know Davey's the best at this game", Spot says, sucking their teeth. He folded his arms, smirking at their boyfriend. "I don't think that's gonna happen."

"Oh, but it will", Jack responds with determination. He pointed at his youngest boyfriend, a smirk on his face. "I challenge you."

Davey stood up and walked over to him a small smirk on his face as he invaded Jack's personal bubble. "Really?"

Jack swallowed, looking Davey up and down because gee, was he a hottie up close. But he couldn't let his claim stand dry, so he cleared his throat, wiped his hands on his sweats and took a step back.

"Yes."

Davey glanced at Spot, who smiles back at him amusedly. Davey shrugs and moves sit back on the couch. "Fine. Set it up."

Jack smiled widely as he turned on the Nintendo Switch™️, grabbing the TV remote and changing the channel. Davey grabbed the remotes and handed one to Spot.

"You are gonna go easy on him, right?" Davey smirked at the question, shrugging. Spot sighed and shook his head. I'm in love with competitive idiots.

"Alright", Jack sighs, moving back onto the couch. He grabbed his own remotes, getting comfortable. "Having two remotes makes the game fairly easier."

Spot and Davey glance at each other before look at Jack, shaking their heads. Nothing has ever actually proved this claim, especially not when it came to Jack and Mario Kart.

Jack looked at the screen, turning to his boyfriends. "Who's player one?"

"Me", Spot muttered, pressing 'A' on their controller. They moved to the racing type, where he pressed 'A' again. "We'll just play with cars."

"Okay", Jack mumbled, too focused on the screen. He was trying to figure what character to choose. "Which one emulates my personality?"

"Luigi", Spot suggests, smirking. They knew Jack hated Luigi for reasons no one knew.

Jack glared at him but ignored it. "Davey?"

Davey bit his lip as he looked at all of the characters. "Uh...Donkey Kong."

Spot burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. Jack furrowed his brows, choosing the character. He looked at Spot. "You should be King Boo."

Davey snorted as he chose Toad. "Why?"

"Because you're the King of Brooklyn", Jack smirked. "Also intimidating for no reason."

"King Boo is not intimidating", Spot argued, pushing their hair back. "He's like a mean version of Casper."

"And that doesn't scare you?" Spot shrugged at Davey's question, pressing 'A'. Now, they had to pick their cars.

"Alright", Jack muttered, completely focused now. "I'm gonna choose the coolest car."

"That's not a good idea", Davey advises, smirking. There was a secret to how he won every game, and Jack had yet to crack it. "Sometimes the coolest car isn't the fastest."

Jack rolled his eyes, pressing 'A'. "There's no way to know if you're car is fast, Dave."

Davey chuckled as Spot and Jack looked at him confusion. He pressed the back of the control and pulled up a hidden menu, one that allows you to know the speed and endurance of your kart.

"Wha-" Jack blinked in awe, looking between Davey and the TV. "How- how did you-"

Davey shakes his head, pressing 'A' on his controller. The racetrack menu pops up just as fast. "I will never tell."

Jack rolled his eyes and looked to Spot. "Rainbow Road."

"What?" Spot looked at him with question. "What are you saying?"

"Rainbow Road", Jack clarifies, staring straight ahead at the screen. "Let's do it."

"You sure?" Davey looked at the screen, watching as Spot scrolled through the items. "You don't want to play, like, Mario Circuit?"

"I'm positive", Jack smiles assuredly as Spot clicks on the road, a relaxed smile on their lips. Jack leans forward, watching as the screen was overtaken by the countdown.

Davey watched carefully as the numbers changed from three to two, where he pressed 'A' immediately. This would give him a bit of acceleration, therefore giving him a boost.

Jack watched his screen intensely, not planning on looking away from it. He was going to win this round and make history. No one has ever been able to beat Davey at Mario Kart since they still played with Wii's, or so he claims. But Jack was going to do it. He had to.

Spot was just there for the sheer time of relaxing and watching his boyfriends figuratively crush each other. Were they a little chaotic? Yes. Yes, they were.

Jack kept glancing at his boyfriends, watching as Spot became more involved in the game, similar to himself. The two leaders had a bit of a losing problem, and sore just didn't do it justice.

But Davey sat quietly. He looked collected, almost bored. How did he manage to look so done with one of the hardest Rainbow Roads in the entirety of this game?

Jack kept falling off of the road, and Spot was right behind him in his climbing numbers. But Davey fell maybe twice, and he didn't even flinch.

But Jack was still going to win. He was going to make it to first place, rub it in Davey and Spot's faces, then stay on the winner's high for two weeks.

Maybe.

It is the second round, and Jack is still only in sixth place. Spot is in third and Davey's in first- as always- and Jack was starting to lose hope.

No, he thought, staring more intensely. I've got this. I'm going to win.

He did not have it. He did not win.

Jack threw his head back on the couch as Davey sighed, placing the controller on the coffee table. "That was fun."

"How", Jack muttered, glancing at his boyfriend. "How do you do it?"

Spot chuckled, shaking their head. Davey smiled and kissed Jack's forehead. "How about I teach you later, huh?"

"God, yes!" Jack jumped up with joy, doing his victory dance. "I'm gonna beat you next time!"

"I never said I'd tell you everything", Davey smirks, crossing his arms. Jack stopped cheering as he stares at Davey in confusion. The taller stands up and leaves the room.

Jack scrambles after him. "What do you mean? You're gonna teach me, right?!"

As they left, Spot grabbed the remote and changed the channel. He leaned back on the couch as Netflix took over the scene.

"I'm never playing Mario Kart with them again", Spot mutters to himself as he grabs a blanket and lays it on themself.
