"THIS IS HALLOWEEN!" Race and Romeo skipped through the building known as "Medda Larkin's Theater." They found where Davey and Jack were attempting to hide, and ran towards them, getting as close as possible. "THIS IS HALLOWEEN!"

Jack laughed as Davey sighed, disappointed their argument was interrupted. "Do you guys need something?"

"Nah", Romeo answered, grinning. "We's kinda just goin' around annoyin' everyone."

"Yeah", Race agreed. "Tryin' to scare people, askin' a million questions. Just normal stuff."

Jack nodded, knowing from previous events that Romeo and Race did enjoy scaring people. He even had the scar on his cheek to prove it.

"Anyway", Race smiled, clapping his hands together. "Ons to more improtant matters. What is youse guys supposed to be?"

Davey facepalmed. He decided not to ruin Race's moment and ignore the pronunciation. "I'm Iron Man and-"

"And I's Captain America", Jack interrupted excitedly. Of course, Davey rolled his eyes, but that wasn't going to ruin his night.

This was the first Costume Party to ever been held by the Newsies. All of their friends and allies were invited, and it was supposed to be the greatest party of the year. "What are youse guys?"

Race and Romeo pretended to model the clothes. "Spot and me is goin' as Jake and Rich from Be More Chill", he gestured to Romeo, who finished for him.

"And Specs and I is goin' as Jeremy and Micheal. We even convinced Sarah and Kath to go as Brooke and Chloe. We's coulda had a Christine, but the other girls didn't wanna do it because theyse already had costumes planned, but I heard Blink and Mush is goin' as Eddie and Richie- you can guess who is who- oh! And Smalls and Sniper are going as Adora and Catra from She-Ra, which I's thinks is really creative, and-"

"Hey, Romeo?" Davey handed Romeo and Rubix Cube. "Could you solve this for me? It's been taking me forever."

"Sure!" Romeo took the toy and sat on the floor, his attention focused on the multicolored squares.

"I's actually kinda nervous for Spot to get here", Race shook his hands, trying to wave his nerves away. "We's hadn't seen each other's costumes yet; wanted it to be a surprise."

"So, who exactly are you going as?" Davey inquired, looking at Race's costume. There was a small portion of his hair dyed red from the Kool-Aid he'd used earlier. "It's pretty put together."

"Oh, I's goin' as Rich", Race smiled, brushing off his shirt. "Spot's comin' as Jake."

"Wait", Jack snorted. "Why not the other way around?"

Race shrugged. "Probably has something to do with my hair-"

"Or height", Jack snickered as Davey hit him. "I's sorry! It's just so funny!"

"And why, God help us all, is it so funny, Jack?" Davey placed his index finger and his thumb on the bridge of his nose.

"Well", Jack smirked, "I'lls have you know, Gerard Canonico is 5'5", Jack tried to hide his smile. "Spot just so happens to be 5'4."

Jack was now laughing hysterically as Race left to go answer the door that everyone failed to notice was being knocked on. Davey heard his phone ring, though, so he answered it. "Hello?"

"Put my boyfriend on the phone."

"It's for you?" Davey handed the phone to Jack, questioning why he was friends with the guy on the other line.

Jack had calmed down from laughing, but you still hear the amusement in his voice. "What?"

"You makin' fun of my height, Jacky-boy?" Jack's face nearly paled when he heard who was on the line.
