"Alright, listen here, kid", Jack stared his kid in the eyes, crouching down to reach her 3'5" level. "Daddy is gonna go out with Mr. Davey, okay? Uncle Race, Albert, Elmer, and Spot are gonna hang out with you, alright?"

Kat stared at her dad with a bored look in her eyes and a hand on her hip as he spoke to her. This was the normal speech she got every time her dad left the house.

"Just listen to your uncles, okay?" Jack patted Kat's head as she rolled her eyes and grabbed her tablet, walking away and jumping on the couch.

Jack sighed and looked up to see his brothers holding back laughter when he flipped them off. He walked over to them and hugged them.

"I'm so glad you guys are here", Jack sighed. "I couldn't call Medda."

"It's cool, Cowboy", Spot smiled, placing his hand on Jack's shoulder. "We understand."

"Besides, we love the little cockroach", Race beamed, looking at his niece. "She's fun."

Jack raised an eyebrow at the others and shook his head when they shrugged. He adjusted his tie and grabbed his shoes from near the door. That's when he heard a knock.

He opened it with one shoe on his foot, and closed it when he found Davey on the other side.

"Did you really just close the door on your date?" Albert sighed and shook his head, throwing Jack's shoe at his head. "You always taught me that was rude."

Jack rolled his eyes and pulled his shoe onto his foot. "Go watch my kid, Albert."

Jack opened the door as Albert was cackling. "I am so sorry about that."

"It's okay", Davey smiled. "It's not the first time that's happened. This is just under better circumstances."

Jack raised an eyebrow and stared at Davey's eyes. "My brother spray painted the inside of my house."

Jack snorted and shook his head. He placed his elbow out after closing and locking the door, hoping Davey will lock his elbow in. "Ready to go?"

Dave grinned and wrapped his elbow with Jack's, stepping down the stairs of the shorter's apartment, and walked down the streets of New York.

"So, where exactly are we going?"

Davey chuckled at Jack's exasperated tone and turned his head back. "I told you; it's a surprise."

Jack groaned and flipped his head back. "You know, I really do hate surprises. They're nerve-wracking."

"Good to know", Davey giggled, still dragging Jack by the hand. They made it to Central Park, where a small picnic was set in place.

"Can I open my eyes now?" Jack had a hand placed over his eyes that made Davey snort. This guy is such a dork.

"Sure, even though I never told you to close them", Davey laughed. The moment he saw Jack's face, when he noticed the picnic, is a moment he wished he could take a thousand pictures of, just to make sure he remembered it forever.

"I-", Jack gasped. "I'm speechless, Dave."

When Davey saw Jack was about to be in tears, he rushed over and embraced him in a hug. "Why are you crying, hun?"

"No one's ever done this for me before", Jack sniffed. "I'm usually on the giving end, you know? You just- God, you just really know how to make a guy feel special."

Davey pulled away from the hug and looked at Jack's face. "You are special, Jack."

The shorter blushed and looked away nervously, a small smile present on his lips. The writer blushed at the adorable sight in front of him.
