After School Special

Liz: "Carol Lockwood always said that togetherness, in times of tragedy, leads to healing" she says to the gym full of people as everyone passes candles to light each one "That one community is stronger than a thousand of its members. But how does a community stay strong after losing its leader? And Carol was so much more than just a mayor. She was...an open-minded friend. And a concerned mother, taken from us too soon by a terrible accident."

Tyler: "Screw this." he shakes his head, walking off

Caroline: "What? Tyler. Tyler, wait."

Liz: "Please join me in observing a minute of silence in her memory."

Looking over at where Tyler stormed out, Elena watches as Rebekah steps into the room, looking at Elena. Turning her head away she turns back to see Rebekah no longer standing there

Bonnie: "Are you okay?"

Elena: "I'll be right back."

Liz: "Thank you very much. In the wake of this tragedy, the town has selected an interim mayor. Many of you already know him. Please welcome Mr. Rudy Hopkins."

Rudy: "Thank you, Sheriff. Carol Lockwood put this town first, and that's why I'm here to talk to you guys. You folks..."

Walking through the halls, Elena rubs her head a little before hearing the sound of someone crying

Elena: "April?" she questions when turning a corner and seeing said woman standing at a locker "What's wrong?"

April: "Nothing. I'm fine."

Elena: "But you're crying."

April: "It's just the whole mayor thing. You know, it's bringing up stuff with my dad" she shrugs as Elena gives her a soft look "And I know you're a vampire." she states, making Elena's eyes widen

Elena: "Wait. What?"

Rebekah suddenly appears behind Elena, breaking her neck as the two watch her body fall to the ground

April: "Was that necessary?"

Rebekah: "No, but it was fun." she smirks

Caroline: "Hey, you just missed the mandatory all-school assembly."

Aspen: "Sorry. I was, uh, a little busy." she smirks, looking down at Stefan who presses kisses to her neck

Caroline: "Seriously? You choose now to lose your V card?"

Aspen: "Relax, I haven't lost it."

Caroline: "Not yet anyways" she sighs "Tyler is spiraling."

Aspen: "His mother just died. What do you expect?"

Caroline: "I'm his girlfriend. I expect him to talk to me. But instead he's all angry, and it doesn't help that everyone keeps referring to his mother's death as an accident, which is really just a polite way of saying that she was drunk."

Aspen: "He's probably pissed cause like us he knows the truth. Klaus was on a murderous rampage thanks to his hybrids."

Caroline: "Just get here. I can't do it alone."

Aspen: "Sure thing." she hangs up, tossing her phone to the side as Stefan picks his head up, pressing their lips together

Waking up in the library, Elena groans as she slowly stands up, looking over at April who moves towards her

April: "The assembly's over."
