Matt: "How's Mr. Saltzman?" he asks Elena as she comes over to where he's waiting in the halls of the hospital

Elena: "Resigned to spending the night in observation, so long as I promise to change the lock on the house" she purses her lips as they begin walking down the hall "So I talked with Bonnie earlier. Her and her mom are fine. Have you talked to Caroline?"

Matt: "Yeah. She's holding it together, considering how close she and her dad used to be. And Aspen is well...she's Aspen" he shrugs "Any word on who was behind all these attacks?"

Elena: "No. Sheriff Forbes said that there's no real suspects at all" she sighs as they arrive at the parking lot "How are you dealing with everything? I mean, you keep getting dragged into all this."

Matt: "Honestly...I'm kind of lucky. The only thing that I have to worry about for tomorrow is showing up for my shift at the Grill."

Elena: "Thank you for everything today. Really."

Matt: "Get home safe."

Elena: "Thanks." she breathes, giving him a soft smile as he heads towards his truck

Opening her car door, she sighs as gets ready to leave, waving bye to Matt who drives off. Starting her car, she begins to back up but ends up hitting something

Elena: "What?" she breathes in confusion

Getting out to check, she goes towards the bar of her car to see nothing there. Turning to move back to her car she jumps in surprise when seeing Rebekah standing behind her

Rebekah: "Drive much?"

Elena: "Rebekah..." she gasps in shock when
Rebekah grabs hold of her, pinning her to the car as she chokes her

Rebekah: "Surprised? You drove a dagger through my back, Elena. It hurt" choking her she goes to bite her but Elijah speeds over, pinning Rebekah against the other end of the car "Elijah."

Elijah: "Leave" he releases her and she moves forward, giving him a hard look "Are you challenging me?" he warns

Rebekah: "You're pathetic. Both of you." she looks between the two, speeding off and Elijah turns to face Elena

Elijah: "Well...I believe we have a little catching up to do."

Elena: "It was their mother Esther who was sealed in that coffin." she informs Aspen, Stefan, and Damon the next day as they stand in her kitchen

Stefan: "As in the original witch?"

Aspen: "Ha! I was right."

Damon: "What? No you weren't."

Aspen: "Yes I was. I had a list of possibilities of what could be inside. Mommy dearest was number...4."

Damon: "How is she even alive? I thought her hybrid freak show of a son ripped her heart out a thousand years ago."

Elena: "I don't know. I'm guessing she has a couple of connections in the witching community. Elijah said that she wants to live in peace with her family, including Klaus."

Aspen: "So her son kills her, keeps her stuffed in a box for centuries and all she wants to do is have tea parties and family picture days?"

Elena: "Apparently."

Aspen: "She's evil." she declares with a shrug

Stefan: "How do you know?"

Aspen: "Because any person with pure intentions would've at least knocked Klaus around for a good week before forgiving him."
