Gabrielle POV

We get to town and I drive over to my house. Alanis hasn't really talked during the ride here.

I pull into my driveway and open my door.

Gabrielle: Well, we're here.

She doesn't respond.

I look over at her and she's fallen asleep in the car. God- what is with this girl? She was literally just created today, you'd think she would be a little more excited.

Astra: Oh, so this is the new girl?

I didn't know Astra was there so she kind of startles me.

Gabrielle: shit- can you stop doing that.

Astra: What? Existing?

Gabrielle: You know that's not what I meant.

I reach over and hold her hand.

Astra: okay... well, sorry.

I lean forward to kiss her on the cheek and she smiles.

Astra: Anyway, you should wake her up so we can show her around before her video screening.

Gabrielle: Umm, yeah... about that...

Astra: what?

Gabrielle: Listen, sweetheart, you know I love spending time with you. But when I start talking to someone other people can't see, people... judge me. And then they get suspicious, and eventually find out that I'm an unstable, and then I end up losing my job and- and-

I feel tears fill my eyes.

Astra: Hey, babe, it's fine. I-I get it.

I wipe away the tears and smile at her.

Gabrielle: I love ya, cutie pie.

Astra: I love you too, love bug.

I stare into her eyes for a few seconds before I remember what I'm supposed to be doing.

Gabrielle: so- I should wake the newbie so I can show her around.

Astra: *laughs* yeah, and I'll go do... whatever.

Gabrielle: Cya later.

Astra: Bye.

She flies off.

I walk over to the other side of the car and open the passenger door. I reach for her shoulder and shake her.

She doesn't get up.

Gabrielle: *sighs* Alanis.

I shake her again. She starts to open her eyes and sits up in the seat.

Gabrielle: Well, good morning to you.

Alanis: *yawns* existing is so exhausting.

Gabrielle: I mean... agreed. But I need to show you around so get up.

Alanis: Aight.

She gets up out of the car and closes the door behind her. I start to walk to The Broken Bottle and she follows me.

Gabrielle: Okay, so we there hasn't been a new house made for you yet. So I'll have to see if anyone has an extra room for you until we can figure out a permanent solution.

Alanis: oke, I'm cool with anything.

Gabrielle: Well, if you ever need anything, just ask.

Alanis: Aight, cool.

Alanis POV

We walk up to a building with a light up sign saying 'The Broken Bottle'. I look in the window, oh tight, a bar. Gabrielle opens the door and we head inside. It's colder inside the bar, which is nice 'cus The Waiting Zone doesn't have an AC, so I've been in the heat since I've been here.

I see a woman with short blonde hair working at the bar.

?: Oh, hey Gabrielle. Who's...?

She points at me.

Gabrielle: She's a new character, we found out super last minute.

?: Oh, cool. *turns to Alanis* Nice to meet you, I'm Karen.

Alanis: Alanis.

I wave at her.

Gabrielle: Hey, where's Gemma?

Karen: Just *sigh* family stuff.

Gabrielle: Oh, okay.

I grab a bottle off of the counter and start to drink out of it. Mmmm, it's good. Karen looks at me with judgement.

Karen: You're gonna pay for that, right?

Alanis: Oh, um...

I look over at Gabrielle.

Gabrielle: *sigh* here

She grabs some money out of her purse and hands it to Karen.

Karen: Alright... fine.

Alanis: Thanks, Gab.

Karen raises her eyebrow before walking to the back.

I hear the bell on the door. I turn to face the door and see a blonde girl in a maid outfit walk in.

Maddie POV

I walk into the bar and see Gabrielle with... someone new. I see the newbie staring at me... specifically at what I'm wearing.

I usually don't wear my maid outfit in public when I'm off the job, but I wanted to grab a drink before heading home.

Maddie: Oh, hey, who's this?

Alanis: I'm Alanis.

Gabrielle: She's the newbie, yes, I know it's last minute.

Maddie: Cool, I'm Maddie

I put my hand out for a handshake and she gives me a high-five.

Karen comes out from the back room and waves at me.

Maddie: Hey, Karen.

Karen: Hi Maddie, what would you like today?

Maddie: A mimosa, thanks.

Karen: Alright, it'll be ready in a few minutes.

She returns to the back room. I go and grab a seat while I wait. My phone buzzes so I pull it out of my pocket. It's a text from Gemma.

Gemma: *over text* Hey, you done work?

Maddie: Yep, just finished my last job of the day.

Gemma: Good, cus I've got another job for you 😉

She sends a close up pic of her licking her lips.

Excitement fills me. I bite my finger trying to contain it.

Maddie: I'll be over in a bit.

Gemma: Perrrrfect.

Gemma: Oh, and if you could do one little favor for me, Muffin...

Maddie: Of course.

Gemma: Bring over three bottles of beer and two bottles of wine. Just to help spice things up for your sloppy little self.

Maddie: Whatever you want, Daddy.

Gemma: thank you, my little whore💋

I put my phone away before I wet myself in public.

Karen waves me over to the bar. I get up and walk over to her.

Karen: Here's your mimosa.

She slides me my drink.

Maddie: Actually, I have a few more drinks to order.
