kylieandrews: baby, you were my absolute best friend. After my breakup with my ex boyfriend of four years, you helped me through everything. somewhere through that I guess we discovered our crushes on each other... so we began dating. you made so undeniably happy in so many more ways than you could've ever imagined. tears are coming down my face at this moment and I'm shaking from the fact that I'll never get to hold your face again. kissing you felt like nothing I've ever felt with anybody ever before. Those past 7 months were so short but so amazing. loving you was the best thing I ever decided to do. fly high, jeff. i'm sure you're already playing baseball with some of your favorite MLB players. i love you more than words. just like your last words to me when you left the party were, i love you. forever and always ❤️

clayjensen0713: he really loved you, you know. i miss that dude so much.
kylieandrews: @clayjensen0713 I know 😌 and he really appreciated you as his friend. The day before, he told me to tell you thank you for setting him up with me. thank you, clay.
dempzee: the best baseball player. taken way too soon...

"How're you doing, Ky?" Hannah came up to me and asked. She touched my shoulder and rubbed it.

"Um, I could be doing better. I still have some things of his that his mom may like back, so I'm going to give them to her after school." I said, holding back tears. She hugged me.

"What was your guy's last conversation?" She asked.

"We slept together for the first time that night. Afterwards we just talked about our future." I said, trying to remember that night.

"Wow. You've got some skill." I said, panting heavily, falling to the side of him.

"Thanks, baby." He said, kissing me. He pulled away and just looked at me.

"What do you plan to do at college?" I asked him as he was going to be a senior this upcoming year.

"Play ball, go to classes, miss my pretty girl, play ball, and go to classes." He said. "But mainly play ball. The whole missing my pretty girl thing isn't that important." He said laughing. I smacked his chest playfully. "Ow! What?!" He asked me, rubbing his chest.

"You dick! I know you're joking when you say you're not gonna miss me." I said.

"Well of course I'm gonna miss you. That's a given! You're my girlfriend, Ky." He said, laughing.

"I can't believe that you're graduating this year." I said.

"I know. It's so crazy." He said, putting his arm around me. I was about to fall asleep when someone ran in. I covered myself and so did Jeff.

"Dude! What the fuck!" Jeff shouted.

"We need more beer but everyone else is too drunk to get the beer." The person slurred. I looked over at who it was and it was Monty.

"Okay, Fine. Just let me put on clothes and get the hell out." Jeff said.

"Aight, thanks bro!" He said, shutting the door. He grabbed my chin and kissed me.

"Let me go with you, Jeff. I haven't drank that much." I said.

"No, babe. Just stay here, I'll be fine. I promise." He said.

"You sure?" I asked.

"More sure than ever. And when I come back, we'll do another round of what we just did, okay?" He said. I bit my lip and kissed him.

"Sounds good." I said.

"I love you." He said, looking at me.

"You-"

"Did I just say that out loud?" He laughed. I laughed with him and nodded.

"I love you too." I said to him.

"Here, take my shirt so you could go out there." He said. He put his clothes on and I put my clothes and his shirt on. He began to walk out.

"Hey!" I called out to him. He turned around. "I love you. Be safe." I told him.

"I love you too. Forever and always." He said, kissing me. He turned around and ran out to go get more beer.

1 hour later....

I walked downstairs because it'd been about an hour and a half since I'd seen Jeff.

"Hey, has anyone seen Jeff?" I asked around. I went outside and I heard sirens nearby. I walked out and followed the sound. I came across an accident. There I saw Clay. He was looking into the car. I walked over to Clay who turned around.

"Kylie, get away, please." He said, pushing me away from the car.

"What's wrong Clay? Who is that?" I asked. I managed to peek over him and see inside the car. My heart sank the minute I noticed the blood and his head down.

(ignore the text)

"Kylie." Clay said.

"Jeff!" I screamed, crying. "Jeff! No!" I screamed again. I fell into Clay's arms as I watched them try to resuscitate him.

They were unsuccessful.

"Let me hold him!" I shouted at them.

"Ma'am, I don't think-"

"Please." Clay said. "It's her boyfriend."

"Okay. Make it quick." The paramedic said.

Shaking, I walked up to Jeff on the ground. I put his head on my lap.

"I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry that this happened. I love you so much. You deserved so much better than this." I said, sobbing. I stroked his hair back and wiped the blood from his forehead. I kissed his forehead and held him one last time.

"Ma'am, we need to take him now."  The paramedic said.

I nodded. They took him from under me and left. Clay came up to me.

"I'm so sorry." He said, hugging me.

He hugged me on the ground.

"I don't know what else to say except I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." He said, hugging me.

"He's dead." I said, crying. "The last thing he said to me was that he loved me." I said, continuing to cry. "He loved me."

"Shh. Just relax." He said to me.

"He promised me he was going to be fine." I told Clay. "He fucking promised." I said through my teeth.

"Come on, let's go." He said, picking me up and carrying me back to his place as I was living with Jeff. He walked through the door.

"Sweetie, what hap-" Clay's mom began to ask as he walked through door with me. She must've noticed that I had Jeff's blood all over me.

"Jeff died tonight." Clay said. "She needs a place to sleep for a while." Clay said.

"Ok just put her in the guest bedroom. She can stay however long she needs to." She said, very softly. Clay put me down onto the bed. "Let me get you some fresh clothes." He said, walking out. I heard their conversation outside door.

"Is she going to be okay, mom?" Clay asked.

"I don't know, kid. Losing  a dad when she was 6, then losing her boyfriend?" She asked. "She's been through enough. She just needs to relax and get some sleep." His mom said.

"Okay, mom. I just don't know how much more she could take before she explodes." Clay said. He walked away. I looked at my phone and scrolled through pictures of me and Jeff.

"I love you." I whispered. There was a knock.

"Here." He said, handing me the clothes. He sat on the edge of the bed.

"Thanks." I said, hoarsely. There was silence.

"Jeff really loved you, you know." Clay said, half-smiling.

"You were his best friend. I'm sorry you had to be the first one to find him." I said.

"Better me than you." He said. He patted my thigh and walked out.

"Good night, Jensen." I told him, using the nickname that Jeff and I gave him.

"Night, Ky." He said, shutting the door.

"I'm so sorry." Hannah said.

"No, you know what? I love you, Han, and I appreciate you, but I am so tired of everyone telling me that they're sorry. You know who should be sorry? Monty and the people who ran over that fucking stop sign. The one that killed my boyfriend who had so much going for him." I said, walking away. Clay walked up to me.

"Hey, Ky. Are you doing okay?" Clay asked.

"How do you think?" I asked.

"Everywhere I go, there's a constant reminder of him. Everyone is always asking me how I'm doing, and I say that I'm fine when I'm really fucking not. I'm tired of it. I'm just fucking done." I said. "Everyone stares at me. They're waiting for me to break. I can't take it." I began having a panic attack.

Clay pulled me into a classroom.

"Breathe. You need to breathe." He told me.

"Why is this happening?"

"Jeff is gone. His funeral is tomorrow, I get how you feel." He said.

"its all monty's fault." i said, as monty walked past the classroom.

i walked outside.
