The twins decided to take us to some restaurant right on the beach. I couldn't tell you the name because I was too busy paying attention to the view of the ocean. The sun was beginning to set as we were placed at a table with an amazing view.
"We can watch the sunset!" I say filled with excitement as I sit down next to Grayson. He places his hand on my thigh and gives it a squeeze as he sits beside me.
The sky was a beautiful pinkish purple, fading into its darkness. Sunsets are always beautiful and I use to believe Oklahoma had the best ones. I stand corrected as I sit here watching the sunset over the ocean. It's breath taking and has me at awe.
I feel Grayson holding a stare on me. I turn in his direction and meet his eyes. He smiles and laughs a little, turning away.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing. You just look beautiful. And I love watching you when you're excited, even over the littlest things." He tells me. I kiss his cheek before looking at the menu. I chew on my lip as I read through and I almost think about settling on grilled chicken until I come across a blazed salmon.
"Hayden, they have calamari as an appetizer!" Ethan tells me, knowing it's one of my favorite. I smile at him and beg him to order it when the waitress comes back to bring our drinks.
"Cross." Emercyn scrunches up her nose in disapproval. I stick my tongue out at her and look at the menu some more.
Our appetizers and food arrives in no time and I felt like I was in heaven. Calamari and Salmon? Say no more. It all tasted delicious and it was some of the best I'd ever had. Grayson tries to take a bite of my food, but I shove him away. This is mine. All mine.
After dinner, we all decided to take a walk on the beach. As soon as my feet touched the sand, I felt like running around. I stayed calm and walk along side Grayson. I'm like a kid in the candy store when I'm at the beach.. obviously.
Grayson and I depart our ways from Ethan and Emercyn. We sing our hands as we walk. We don't say anything. We stay silent and it was rather peaceful and soothing. The sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore and the sounds of bugs were the only things heard.
As we near the water and the waves come in, we get a feel of the water. I jolt back from how cold it was making Grayson laugh.
"It's freezing!" I whine.
"I know." He says, and we turn to walk along the shore. "I'm so glad you're here." He adds.
"Me too. I know we hadn't been apart long, but I just needed to be with you." I tell him.
"Ditto." He smirks. He turns me towards him and brings his lips to mine. I bring my arms up to wrap around his neck, bringing him closer to me. I cherish every single moment with him. I cherish all the times I'm able to kiss him and feel him whenever I want.
After a while, we leave the beach and wash our feet off in one of the showers at the side. We walk to the car and on the way there, someone calls out Ethan and Grayson's name.
"Julia." Grayson says back. She comes to view. Believe fair skin with the blondest hair. He eyes were the brightest blue I had ever seen. I look at Grayson who still holds his stare on her.
"How are you?" She asks, bringing him into a hug. Ethan glare at her before she hugs him too. What the heck?
"Fine." Grayson says shortly.
"Good! I'm very proud of the two of you." She says, batting her fake lashes at them. I roll my eyes. Who is she?
She looks at Emercyn and I, shooting us a rude glance. I look at Em who stares back as equally rude. I nudge her and she looks at me.
"So Gray, we need to catch up. Call me when you're free, yeah? I'll be in town for the next week. Hope to hear from you." She tells him, giving him a hug. She kisses him on the cheek and I feel myself burn with anger. She walks away, turning back around to wave at him.
I turn to Grayson who acts as if known of this just happened. Ethan grabs Grayson's arm, talking to him privately while we walk to the car.
"I wanna know who she is." Emercyn says.
"I don't like her." I mumble as I slide into the back seat. Emercyn sat in the back with me this time. The car ride was dead silent. No one spoke.
The tension in the car was extreme. Both Ethan and Grayson seemed off. Grayson had a sour look on his face but not like Ethans. I was more confused than ever before. I wanted answers and you bet I will get them.
When we get to the apartment, Ethan and Grayson exclude themselves into Ethans room to discuss. Secrets I see are held between the four of and I don't like it.
"They are hiding something." Emercyn says.
"Maybe not hiding something. They might just be afraid to tell us what is going on."
"I guess." She sighs and sits on the couch. I go into Graysons room and change into a pair of soft shorts and one his t shirts. I sit on the bed and wait for him.
Due to Ethans room being right next to Gray's, I can hear yelling. It's faint due to the walls but I want so bad to know what they are talking about. To know who she is. He comes into the room with his hands tangles in his hair.
"Grayson-"
"Please, Hayden. Not right now." He whispers, interrupting me.
"Not right now? No, Grayson. Who was she and why all of a sudden are both you and Ethan livid. Looking like you might kill someone? She kissed your cheek and as she did, made sure I was watching. Who. Is. She?" I say, trying my best not to shout. I was mad. Not at him. But the fact that this girl has an effect on his attitude and I don't like it.
"Julia. That's who she is."
"Who is she Grayson. Explain to me right now. No secrets." I plead.
"She's a model local in New York. Ethan and I met her about a year ago. I really liked her. Like really liked her." He says. My heart aches hearing him say he liked her. Even if it's in the past and history. The way he has acted since he saw her makes me feel anxious and worried.
"She told me she liked me. Loved me even. I found out she didn't. She lied to me because the whole time she was saying this, she was saying it to Ethan too. This caused E and I to
have a rough patch too." He explains. I stare at him I tas he sits on the end of the bed. Facing away from me. "So then I did the most awful thing." He whispers and if I'm not mistaken, i hear him sniffle. Oh god.
My mind was all over, trying to think of what he could have done. Something awful? There are lots of possible awful things. I pull my lips into a tight line as he continues.
"Ethan really liked her. I think even more than I did. Her best friend at the time was really close with me. So I asked her to do a little something for me." He says.
"and that was?"
"I asked her to tell some people that Ethan got her pregnant. Which wasn't true because Ethan was still a virgin then. Ethan's first was Emercyn. So then that image kind of effected her more then it did him due to the fact she was much bigger in the world than we were at the time. She lost some of her modeling gigs due to it which she would have gotten tons of money from and a bigger image. Ethan was furious. For the longest time he didn't talk to me. And now that you know, I don't expect you to either." He cries. I close my eyes and hold my mouth.
My began to spin with all of this news. My Grayson, sweetest, most caring Grayson, did that? Ruined he image of someone and hurt his own brother? I look at him and he stares back at me with red puffy eyes.
"I know what I did was fucked up." He said.
"Yeah, it was. Really fucked up." I reply.
"I learned from that. I learned how important that is especially now with Ethan and I having all the fans and viewers we have. And I wish I could take it back, I wish I hadn't done it. People talk, a lot, and news spreads around fast. Whether everyone knows your name or whether if you're a normal person. And I messed up big time." He looks at me with pleading eyes. I know he is guilty, and that he regrets it, and that he is sorry. I can see him begging me to not look at him differently.
"I don't expect you to stay. Say the words and I'll book a flight home." He mumbles.
"Grayson, I love you. What you did is incredibly fucked up. What she did to you was bad to but you could have ruined her entire career over a rumor! Her entire career that I bet she has put a lot of effort into. I don't like her. Not one bit. But I don't care who the person is, that's terrible." I tell him. He looks at me and chews on his own lip.
"I just can't believe you, of all people. I- I don't necessarily see you differently.. but how I am suppose to know if you'd do that to me? I mean 99.9% of my friends have screwed me over so I'm use to it, but you're someone I love. Someone who I've given myself to. And that scares me that you are capable of doing that. I've been hurt millions of times, and I'm not ready and strong enough to go through that again." I explain to him. He shakes his head, coming closer to me. I tense a little which I didn't mean to do and that about breaks him.
"You have to trust me, baby. I'd never. That was the past and a younger me. I was stupid and selfish." He explains. I nod my head at him.
"I'm not going anywhere. Maybe we should just go to bed." I tell him. He nods his head and goes to the bathroom.
That night, we slept on opposite sides of the bed. No touching or cuddling. We fell asleep in completely and utter silent.
