"Oh? Bakit nakasimangot ka?" Takang tanong ni Beatrice nang makaupo na siya sa tabi ko.
I didn't bother to answer her. My eyes were locked on the burning woods in front of us. Wala na naman ako sa mood. Two weeks na akong wala sa mood. Paanong hindi ako mawawala sa mood kung oras oras at araw araw nalang namimiss ko siya?
Alam mo yung nakakabwisit? Yun yung akala mo masasanay ka, but why was it feels like Im torturing myself? Im dead. I feel dead.
"Tawagan mo na kasi."-Ella
"No."
"Why not?" Sabad na tanong ni Amy. I looked at her and next to the fire again. I sighed. "You're starting to have wrinkles on your forehead na!"
"Oo nga sis! Baka ampangit mo na sa kasal namin!"-Kuya Justin
"Im just tired." Pangiti kong sagot at saka bumuntong hininga.
I thought I would be alright. Waking up in the morning pretending that everything will be fine didn't help me at all. In fact it taught me how to hide my true feelings from the people around me. Ella noticed it a week later but I don't know what was happening to me.
Yes, I know it would be over soon. But really, it was killing me! Thinking about the fact that Alyssa Dan's too far away from me. I mean, okay lang naman if nasa kabilang bahay lang siya diba? Kaso hindi eh.
"You're always tired. Umamin ka na kasi, you misses Alyssa Dan Valdez." Ate Justine said and nudged me on my side. "Come on sis, be strong. Two months will be over soon." She added. I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off by Beatrice's phone.
"Okay. Im sorry, but I need to answer this!"-Beatrice
"Stay here." Mabilis kong sabi ng akma sana siyang tatayo.
"Babe..."-Beatrice
"Don't give me that attitude again Beatrice."
"Fine!" She sat on the sand again with her annoyed face. I rolled my eyes and leaned my head on her shoulder. "I'll be Alyssa Dan Valdez for tonight." Then she wrapped her arms around me.
"But you don't feel like Alyssa Dan."
"Not look like her either!"-Ella
Amy pointed her stick at Beatrice. "But you are acting like her!" She said. "I could see that you are her replica!"
"Kaboses niya din!"-Kuya Justin
"Not really babe. No offence but Alyssa Dan's voice is manlier than hers!"-Sandy
Napaayos ako ng upo at saka tumitig kay Beatrice. Her phone was on her left ear kaya hindi ko naririnig ang kabilang linya. She was whispering with a huge smile on her face. I shook my head and kissed her cheeks.
"Maddie?"
She nodded her head. "Dennise Michelle, don't you think it's time for you to call your second mom?" Mom asked from the door. Napatango ako at tumayo. "Im talking about Mrs. Valdez hun!"
"Aww mom! Boto ka talaga kay Alyssa Dan?"-Ate Justine
"Obviously. Even si dad!"-Kuya Justin
"Ako hindi." Sabad ni Beatrice. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. "Kasi pag nandito siya wala ka ng time for me." She said pouting her lips.
"It's not like pag nandito si Maddie may time ka pa rin saakin!"
Tumawa sila Amy at Ella kaya napasimangot na ng tuluyan si Beatrice. Lagi siyang binubully ng dalawa. At kung sino pinambubully nila? Ako or si Maddie. Speaking of the girl with the name Maddie, she's Beatrice's bestfriend. Na meet ko na rin siya, and heck! I wish Alyssa Dan was with me.
They were actually the reason why I missed my girlfriend so much. Kasi every time they were together they looked so happy and contented. Almost perfect. Why almost? Kasi mag best friend lang daw sila.
"Hi tita!" I grinned when I get inside the house. Mom's phone was leaning on my ear. "How are you po? It's been two weeks."
"Hello Dennise! I know hun, how are you? You sound tired. Busy so far?"-Mrs. Valdez
I shook my head. "Not really po. Last week po, yes. Since we decided to finish everything on Friday. Pero the next week po, medyo lang."
"Oh! I see. I wish Im there to help your mom."-Mrs. Valdez
"I wish you're here din po tita. To celebrate with us and you know, have our family together."
Tumawa siya ng mahina kaya napangiti ako ng totoo. I sighed. "I heard you're isolating yourself from the crowd na daw?" Nag aalalang tanong niya.
"Ay! Ang OA po ni mommy. Hindi naman po. Tahimik lang po ako. Moody, baka malapit na akong dalawin."
"Totoo ba 'yan?"-Mrs. Valdez
I looked around the room and saw no one. Everyone was having their party outside. I shut my eyes and face palmed myself. "I don't know. Im actually worrying about how Im acting din po. It's weird."
"You should talk to someone though."-Mrs. Lazaro
"Nah... Two months will be over soon! So, im fine."
"I will let Alyssa Dan know that we talked." Sabi niya na nag palungkot pa lalo sa puso ko. Gusto kong umiyak ng banggitin niya ang pangalan ni Alyssa Dan. Para akong ewan, nakakainis.
"Thank you tita. Tell her I love her. Miss you tita! Morning po."
"Miss you too Dennise Michelle. Goodnight."-Mrs. Valdez
Kaagad akong naglakad palabas at nadatnan si mommy na nakatingin sa mga kaibigan at mga kapatid ko. I hugged her side ways making her pat my head. I buried my face on her shoulder and bit my lip.
"So? Did she tell you?"-Mom
"About what?"
"Alyssa Dan..." She replied making me look up at her.
"No. Kinamusta niya lang ako. And she told me to talk to someone if I needed to." Kunot noo kong sagot habang nakatitig sakanya. She opened her mouth to say something but decided to close it again.
"She's right hun. You don't need to hide what the real feelings you have in there." Mom smiled pointing at my left chest. "It's been two weeks. I have never seen you on your phone talking with Alyssa Dan."
"Botong boto ka talaga sakanya noh? I wish dad would be the same."
Mom chuckled. "Your dad loves your girlfriend, he's just afraid that both of you would be in deep pain when time comes that you would change your minds." Her voice was soft. The motherly-like that she used to sound every time I scratched my knee.
"I will call her when I feel like it's the right time." And tonight was the right time. -_-, I would die if hindi ko marinig boses nun.
Bumalik ako sa buhanginan kung saan nakaupo sila ng pabilog. Umupo ako sa tabi ni Beatrice na ngayon ay kumakain ng marshmallows in stick. She grinned once our eyes met. I looked away as I saw Alyssa Dan's smile on her lips again.
"Kamusta ang motherly talk niyo ng second mom mo?" Kuya teased. "Dennise Michelle, we have our rules!"
"Yes kuya! We both know!" Said ate Justine rolling her eyes. "Tanda mo na kasi, pakasal na kayo! Tapus ako na sunod!" Dagdag pa niya.
"Sunod? Mag isa ka lang sa harapan ng altar!"-Beatrice
"Maghahanap ako ng makakasama ko!"-Ate Justine
"Naunahan ka pa ni Dennise. Baka maunahan ka sis!" Biro ni kuya at kumindat saakin. "Kayo na ba sunod? Or hihintayin mong mauna yang gitnang babae natin?" Tanong niya at tinuro pa sa ilong si ate Justine. Natawa ako ng hampasin siya ni ate.
"Hindi porket ikakasal kana ginaganyan mo na ako! Alalahanin mo, pwedeng hindi matuloy ang kasal!"-Ate Justine
"Hoy! Hindi magandang biro yan!"-Kuya Justin
"Hindi talaga! Sino bang nagsabi na nagbibiro ako huh?!"-Ate Justine
"Positive na ba yan ate Justine?" Natatawang tanong ni Ella. "Paanong hindi matutuloy ang kasal? Settled na lahat! Sandra's family is already here!"
"Oo positive! Positive na hindi si Kuya ang pakakasalan niya! Ako!"-Ate Justine
Natawa ako. Naging boses lalake kasi siya tapus tumayo pa ito sa gitna. She pointed at herself raising and eye brow at my kuya. Pero hindi lang naman 'yon ang bumenta. Pati kasi si Sandra nakisama.
"Aww! She's so... Ugh! Take me away Justine Angelica!"-Sandra
"What the!! Hahahaha. Kuya Justin! Iba mag lihi yang si ate Sandra! Bakit sa kapatid mo, at hindi sayo?!" Tumatawang tanong ni Beatrice.
"Eh kasi mas gwapo si ate!"
"Gwapo nga, wala namang...." Hindi na natuloy ni kuya ang sasabihin niya dahil mabilis siyang sinubuan ni Sandra ng chocolate chips. "Baby." He pouted his lips.
Sandra giggled and leaned closer to peck my brother on the lips. I yawned lazily. But that didn't catch their attention, in fact hinila pa ni kuya si Sandra to deepen the kiss. I rolled my eyes annoyingly.
"Don't they look gross?" Beatrice whispered. I shook my head. "But I thought when gays sees straight people kissing they would feel..."
"Im not gay!"
"Yeah Beatrice! We are not gays!"-Ella
"Uh oh! I heard the word gay. Who started it?" Amy asked as if looking around. "Is it the confused yet guilty Beatrice?" She raised an eye brow making me feel Beatrice's hand on my arm.
She looked tense. I shook my head. "It came from Beatrice!" I blurted out making the latter frown. "Hahaha! Love you cousin."
"You're actually showing me the opposite."-Beatrice
"Im sorry. But we are not gays. Diba, I told you about it before?"
"No you did not."-Beatrice
"Tell me who's forgetful!"
Napakamot siya ng ulo kaya sumandal ako sakanya. "Mas gay ka kaya saamin! Kung makangiti ka habang kausap mo si Maddie! Nakakabakla! Akala mo baklang umiihi!" Sabi ni Ella at nag apir pa sila ni Amy.
"Hey! Maddie's a different story!"-Beatrice
"So? You are still gay!"-Ella
"Gay for not telling her what you really feel!"-Amy
"Omg! Wait, what?! Crush mo best friend mo?!" Tanong ni ate Justine na kanina pa pala natigil sa kakatype sa phone niya. Her eyes were wide open while looking at Beatrice.
"Who told you?!"-Beatrice
"Way too obvious! See?! You are blushing!"-Amy
"Duh! How could you see that Im blushing it's way too dark out here!"-Beatrice
"Thank you for the light coming from our big house!" Amy exclaimed. Napailing ako at saka siya binato ng maliit na stone. She grinned. "Im sorry for teasing your cousin Dennise Michelle! But she's fun to tease! Specially that she's guilty!"
I shook my head while laughing softly. "Beatrice are you still confused?"
"Are you?"-Beatrice
"Beatrice De Leon!"
She frustratedly face palmed herself. "Fine! I like Maddie, and I like you too! Remember the first time our eyes met?! Crush talaga kita. Pero crush lang!"
"So si Maddie, love na?"-Ella
"Hindi ah!"-Beatrice
"Baka naman torpe ka lang?" Sabad ni ate Justine at sumilip mula sa cellphone niya. "Tapus na make out session niyo?" Inis niyang tanong kila Kuya at Sandra.
"Aww. Look who's jealous!" Kuya teased. "Ouch, baby..." He suddenly rubbed his side. Sandra glared at him before walking towards ate Justine's spot.
"Don't make my bae sad Justin!"-Sandra
Napa face palm ako. "Why am I with crazy people?!" I groaned.
"Hahaha! I know right! May confuse, may buntis na naglilihi, may bitter, may parang ewan tapus ayan ka! Nakikisama lang!" Tumatawang sabi ni Ella na naging dahilan ng pag hila sakanya ni Amy patayo.
"She's drunk! This is the effect of having too much smokes in your body! Goodnight guys!" Paalam ni Amy habang hinihila si Ella palayo.
"Goodnight!" I yelled out loud.
"8 palang ng gabi ah?"-Beatrice
"Nah! Ella needed to take a rest. She's drunk."-Ate Justine
"Who gave her alcohol though?"-Sandra
"Me?"-Kuya Justin
Napailing nalang ako. I stand on my feet and looked down at Beatrice. "Want to have a walk with me?" I asked her. She nodded her head making me offer my hand and pulled her up.
Naglakad lakad nga kami sa resort namin. It wasn't that dark, the moon was so bright as well as the stars. Our place was far from the city, you wouldn't hear the cars from here. The waves and crickets sound was the only music you could hear. And im loving every bit of it.
"Bakit ba ayaw mo siyang tawagan?"-Beatrice
"Honestly I dont know either."
"Be true to yourself naman, kahit ngayon lang. Be real."-Beatrice
"I am real."
"No you're not. I mean... I understand na sakanya ka lang nagsasabi ng true feelings mo, pero Im worried din kasi. Na baka mag tuloy tuloy na 'yan and when the day comes, baka pati sakanya alam mo na ring mag tago ng real feelings mo." Mahaba niyang sabi.
She has a point though. "Okay. First reason why... Kasi, natatakot akong masanay ulit sakanya. I mean two weeks is already bad for me how much more in the next 6 weeks? Tapus dadagdagan ko pa. Tatawagan ko tapus mamimiss ko ulit."
"Pero at least nawala ng kaunti yung pag kahibang mo diba?" Sabi niya at hinila ang mga kamay ko. "Dont you think you're being unfair? She tried calling you every day last last week but you were like a stone hiding yourself from her."
"Then tumigil siya the next week."
"That's because maybe she thinks you're busy and she's bothering you!"-Beatrice
"Gusto ko lang naman na masanay kami sa ganitong sitwasyon eh. Yung walang contacts or anything."
"Tapus ganun pa rin pag nag kita na kayo?" Kunot noo niyang tanong.
Sumimangot ako. "Oo."
"Pero don't you think sa ginagawa mo you're creating a reason for you guys to fall out of love?"-Beatrice
"Im looking at the positive results!"
"Then consider the negative results. Not every results are positive." Beatrice shrugged and retreated her hand back on her. She dug into her pocket revealing a new iPhone 5s.
"No way!" I uttered in shock.
She scratched the back of her head. "I stole it!" Biro niya at nahampas ko siya kaagad. "Im sorry! Hindi kinaya ng savings ko ang iPhone 6!" She added with worried face.
Hindi ko kinuha ang phone na 'yon. In fact I dug in my hand on her other pocket and got her phone. "Ibalik mo 'yan. Ayokong may gumagastos saakin ng kahit ano..."
"No refund."-Beatrice
"Beatrice De Leon!"
"I swear! Just... It's a gift. Okay? I mean, please?"-Beatrice
Tumitig ako sakanya at tumingin ulit sa phone. Ayoko sanang tanggapin kaso nakikita ko ang lungkot sa mga mata niya. She bought it for me, using her savings. I hate what she did. Kaya naglakad ako ng mabilis patungo sa bahay. Hawak ko ang phone ng pumasok ako ng kwarto.
"Wait for me..." Sabi ko at dumeretso sa tabi ng kama. I kneeled and pulled my trolly bag. "Here's my credit card. I'll pay for the phone."
"No!"-Beatrice
"Half."
"No."-Beatrice
"Please?" I begged. "I hate it Beatrice. Maarte na kung maarte pero, hindi ko talaga keri! It's okay sana kung hindi mo savings, kaso... It's your money."
"It was your phone which I broke two weeks ago!"-Beatrice
"I don't care." Sagot ko at saka inopen na ang phone.
Completo na siya actually. Once I logged in into my iCloud account ay sunod sunod n ang email, iMessage, face time notifs and other apps na kung saan pwedeng mangulit si Alyssa Dan. Some of them were from my friends but mostly kay Alyssa Dan. I didn't bother to open one of her emails or anything, in fact I immediately dialed her phone number on my face time account.
Three rings. It took her three rings to answer her phone. I frowned when she showed her sweaty self on the camera. She was laughing with her friends on the back ground. Sinagot niya nga nasa mag kaibigan naman niya attention niya.
"Holy! Ang hot niya!"-Beatrice
"Get out!" Mabilis kong sabi kay Beatrice ng mahulog ko ang phone sa kama ko. Nagulat kasi ako, ikaw sigawan sa tenga. Ang lakas pa.
"Im so sorry!" Sabi niya at tumakbo palabas ng kwarto. Nang makalabas siya ay mabilis kong linock ang pintuan at bumalik sa kama.
I looked at the screen again and the water started to build up in my eyes when I saw a light blue paper with a capital letter I with Alyssa's picture on it. Then she showed me the next paper it says miss and a sad face... Third paper says you! With my picture on it.
Hinintay kong mawala ang papel. She pulled it down slowly revealing her forehead, her eye brows which were inviting me to touch them, her eye lids and nose, then her eyes full of love and sadness mix together. And her lips.
"I miss you too." I cried.
"Iyakin!"-Alyssa
"Shut up!"
"Knock knock!"-Alyssa
"Who's there?" Naiiyak at natatawa kong tanong. Anu ba yan Alyssa Dan!
"Chicken!"-Alyssa
Napasimangot ako dahil sa ngiti niya. Halatang gusto niya talaga akong patawanin. Gusto niya akong hawaan ng saya niya. At yun yung namiss ko sakanya.
"Chicken who?"
She cleared her throat and grinned. "Chickenya pa rin babalik sigaw ng damdamin, chickenya pa rin babalik bulong ng puso ko..." Then that made me pout my lips. "aww, hindi ka natawa. Isa pa! Knock knock!"
"Who's there?"
"Inday!"-Alyssa
"Inday who?"
"Indaaay! Found a very special love in you..."-Alyssa
"Hahahaha. Hate you! Shut up ka na."
"Honda!"-Alyssa
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Honda who?" I asked. I leaned on the head board as I started to loosen up everything.
"Honda wings of love..." Pag kanta ni Alyssa Dan at may kasama pang action. "Hindi ako shashut up hanggat hindi ko nakikita ang pag kislap ng iyong mga mata!"
"Bumabalik na po."
"Ayoko ng pilit babe..." Nakasimangot niyang sagot. "Uwi kana kasi dito, miss na kita." Dagdag pa niya. I touched the screen and clenched my jaw to stop myself from crying. "Tuna Century."
"The who?"
"On the first day of christmas my Tuna Century! Lalalala..."-Alyssa Dan
"Uwi kana babe. Hindi na ako galit." Sabi ko at tumawa ulit. Tumawa din siya kaya napayakap ako sa unan na nasa tabi ko. "I want a hug."
"Sending you a... VIR...TUAL... HUG!" She exclaimed and she showed me how she hugs my pillow by her side. "How about kisses?" Tanong niya at halos mabaliw ako kakatawa dahil sa pag halik halik niya sa unan.
"Babe, you're insane!"
"Gusto mo french kiss pa eh!"-Alyssa
"Alyssa Dan! Gross! Mag amoy laway pa unan ko!"
"Oh baby... I miss how you say my name." She winked. "And moan..."
"Shut up!"
"Riverboat!"-Alyssa

Tumayo ako sa kama at saka lumabas ng kwarto. Alyssa was staring at me kaya napapataas ako ng kilay. She pouted her lips making me pout mine too and blew her a kiss. I walked inside ate Justine's room.
"Sis, may I borrow your xbox?"
"No video sex Dennise Michelle!"-Ate Justine
"You're so gross!" Inis kong sabi at hinampas siya sa hita. I sat next to her while waiting for the tv. "Babe, skype please! I want a bigger screen."
"Aren't you going to sleep yet?"-Alyssa
I shook my head. Ngayon na nga lang makakausap papatulugin pa ng maaga. "Iloveyou." Sabi ko nalang nang makapag log in na ako sa skype.
"Iloveyou more Denisse Michelle!" Said the latter before hanging up.
Napasandal ako sa kapatid ko habang nag hihintay na mag online si Alyssa Dan. I felt her kissing the side of my head. Masanay na kayo sa ate ko, she's clingy to me since then. Ang saya ngang isipin na, kahit sobrang laki na ng nagbago sa buhay niya eh hindi nagbago ang pakikitungo niya saakin. Im still her bestfriend after all.
Sabi nga niya, sister's by blood best friends by choice. She's right!
"You know what? I've been telling you this many times.., pero, in love ka talaga!"-Ate Justine
"Halata masyado?"
"Hindi siya halata... Pinapakita mo lang talaga!" Sabi niya at sabay kaming napatingin sa screen. She tap the answer button. "You're actually glowing day by day. Every time we talk about Alyssa Dan nag iiba aura mo."
"Nakikinig po ako."-Alyssa
"Hey Dan! What's up? You look like a rag!" Ate Justine snapped her head and faced the screen, she raised an eye brow. "I wonder what kind of teenager you are!"
"Hahaha. Im sorry. We played volleyball po kasi outside."-Alyssa
"As usual! Where did you get your booboo?"-Ate Justine
Nangunot noo ako at napatitig sa mukha niya. I didn't notice the band aid on her upper right eye brow. Then I scanned her top. "Why the heck do you have a bandage on your shoulder Alyssa Dan?" Takang tanong ko.
She scratched the back of her head and straightened her back. "Ahm... Can we not talk about it? Let's just make you feel okay." Said the latter grinning at me.
"Im not listening. So you can talk about it."-Ate Justine
"What now?" I raised an eye brow making my girl laughed nervously.
"Kakantahan nalang kita babe!"-Alyssa
"Nope. Not until you tell me what happened with my girlfriend in the last two weeks?"
Kunwaring napatingin ito sa likuran niya. She started to move carelessly until she accidentally slipped out of bed. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay. Im sorry about that. May hinahanap lang ako." Sabi niya at tumingin sa ilalim ng kama. Napailing iling ako sa itsura niya.
She was sweating. Her grey shirt was wet, and her hair was dripping. My girlfriend looked like a rag, but she's smoking hot.
"Alyssa Dan, would you stop moving?!" I groaned. "You're making me feel dizzy!"
"Ah huh! You're talking with Dennise! I am going to tell her everything!" Rachel suddenly exclaimed and I saw how the door slammed on the wall. She looked at the camera and smirked. "Besh!!! Oh my ghad! You don't want to hear what I am about to tell you!"
"Rachel Ann!"-Alyssa
And they glared at each other. Rachel ran towards the screen but Alyssa immediately covered it using her body. I could hear Rachel mumbling things out but Alyssa's making it difficult for me to understand. She was making those noises which little kids would do everytime their mom's mad.
"Alyssa Dan, enough."
"Babe..." She frowned.
"Okay. Im not going to listen to Rachel, but would you please settle down and tell me what happened with your shoulder and to your face?"
Napakamot ulit siya ng ulo. "I miss you."
"Alyssa Dan..." I used my firm voice making her groan. "Nagloloko ka na naman ba?" Inis kong tanong.
"Uh oh! Your boss knows about it." Rachel giggled.
"Hindi ah! Good girl kaya ako!" Parang bata niyang sabi at umayos ng upo sa kama. Dumapa pa siya at niyakap ang unan ko. "Hindi nga ako nalabas ng bahay eh! Nung nag camping lang po kami."
"So, hindi ba pag labas ang tawag sa ginawa mo today?"
"Hindi ako lumabas."-Alyssa
"Then why did you say you played volleyball? At bakit ganyan ka pag pawisan? Niyayakap mo pa unan ko. Maawa ka saakin pag uwi ko."
"Ay! Oo pala. Lumabas kami kanina. Lalabhan ko po 'to babe! Pag balik mo mabango na po ulit." Sagot niya at nakita kong sinamaan niya ng tingin si Rachel.
"Would you please tell me what happened with my baby then?" I sweetly asked. Makapag lambing nga.
"Pero mawawala pag ka sweet mo pag sinabi ko."-Alyssa
"Try..."
She took a deep breath. Looked at her sides and bit her lip when she looked at the camera. "I was involve in a bicycle accident at High Park." Dahan dahan niyang sabi.
I blink twice. Suddenly I felt my blood boiling from frustration. I calmed myself by bitting the inside skin of my lips. "Do you know how Im feeling right now?" She chuckled. "Im serious Alyssa Dan."
"To add that Davis was involve in the accident too! That's the reason why they are so close, and I could say that if you're not her girlfriend then Davis is!"- sumbong ni Rachel at mabilis na tumakbo palabas ng kwarto ni Alyssa.
I saw how Alyssa's face turned red in anger kaya napatango ako. "Gusto mo rin bang mag ka fling ako dito para fair tayo?" Malumanay kong tanong at halos manlamig ako sa sarili kong boses at pakiramdam.
"No, no, no! Fuck no babe..."-Alyssa
"Wala ako diyan, but that doesnt mean you can play around."
"Exactly! Kaya nga im fighting with Davis na eh. She was the one who...."-Alyssa
"How come Davis is involve with you na? Close na kayo? Nawala lang ako bestfriend mo na siya?"
"Babe, bestfriend lang naman eh. And I was with Ara that day. Lagi naming kasama sila Fille."-Alyssa
