~Summer time the next year~
"Come on sweetheart! I don't want to be late!" Gerard yells up the stairs.
"Late for what?! We are going to the beach!" I yell back as I grab my bag and hat.
"For things. Now come on." Gerard says from my doorway.
"Geez alright. It's not like the beach is going to disappear if we're late." I roll my eyes as I walk over to him, and grab my sunglasses off my dresser.
"Don't roll your eyes. You're gonna like the surprise." He says, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me into a kiss.
"Sure, sure." I smile up at him and peck his lips once more before heading down stairs.
"Sure sure," Gerard mocks as he walks down behind me. "Can't you just be happy I'm surprising you at all?"
I can't help but laugh as we head out the door. "Of course I'm happy! You were just rushing me!" I push him as he walks past me.
"Yeah, well. I'm just excited, okay?" He opens the passenger car door for me.
"Its just a beach trip with the boys, Gee." I smile up at him. "You excited to burn up in that bright ass beach sun?" I laugh.
"Shut up and get in the car." He chuckles.
"Okay okay." I laugh and start to get in the car but Gerard lightly smacks my butt as I make to sit down. "Um excuse me!" I laugh looking up at him from the passenger seat.
"I get to since I'm your boyfriend." He smiles and leans down to me. "Plus you're being a butt."
"Sorry, you just make it easy sometimes." I smile to him and lean forward pressing a kiss to his lips.
"Yeah, well. Watch yourself." He smirks and kisses me again before closing the car door and getting in the driver's seat. I can't help but laugh and ignore the little feeling in my stomach at his words.
"So why aren't we taking Mikey and the boys with us?" I look to the back seat that has my bag and the cooler and an umbrella.
"We have too much stuff for them to fit." Gerard half shrugs.
"Oh okay," I nod and reach over to the stereo to turn up our playlist.
We listen to our songs and sing along on the decent drive to the beach and laugh about Mikey dating Pete without realizing it. Both were oblivious but they're vibing now. Kristin is chilling and dating some cute boy. Her and Mikey figured they weren't ready to date just yet. I think they view themselves as the end all be all pairing. Hahahhaha so they wanted to try and see other people and get some experience before they date. Who knows what's gonna happen there.
We discuss how Frank has way too many dogs again. But anything less than three doesn't seem like Frank, his dogs are just too cute anyway for him to only have one or two. Ray bought a turtle to which Frank immediately hated but is still stuck with turtle watching duties while Ray visits family for a few weeks next month. Sucks for Frank.
After the hour drive to the beach we find the small secluded beach that our group loves to go to because we can be dumb and people wont be rude to us. Parking in the small lot Gerard and I gather all our stuff from the trunk and head to the beach.
"Wait. Where's everyone else?" I look around the beach as we get closer to the shore.
"Mmm, that's the surprise? I thought it could be just us today." Gerard smiles down at me.
"Oh! I love this surprise!" I smile up at him as we finally stop a decent way away from the shore.
"I thought you would." Gerard puts the cooler down. "Figured we could have a picnic, just the two of us. Especially without our friends spying on us." He chuckles.
"That sounds like a perfect date to me." I smile at him, leaning up to kiss his cheek.
"Good," he leans over and kisses me slowly. "I just want to spend some alone time with my girl." He squeezes my hip and then turns to grab the banket.
"I love spending alone time with my pale ass boyfriend." I laugh taking the blanket from. Gerard gives me a look but helps me set out the blanket before we set up our picnic fully. We even make sure to set up the umbrella perfectly so that Gerard is in the shade until the sun goes down.
We take out our snacks and drinks under the shade and scoot close to each other. While we enjoy the slowly setting sun we eat and drink just enjoying each other's company. Maybe we get a little cuddly and kiss but who's to say.
The sun finally falls behind a cliff and casts the beach in a soft pinky orange. It feels so perfect as I lay half on top of Gee with my head on his chest and his hand trailing up and down my back while his other draws little nonsense on my arm.
"Do you want to go for a walk? Since there's no sun on us." Gerard asks quietly, kissing the top of my head.
"Yeah, that'll be nice." I shift looking up at him with a smile.
Gerard nods and starts sitting up but not without trouble from me refusing to sit up. He just laughs and tries to tickle me but I move away before he can get a real hold on me.
"Rude." I mutter scooting away from him.
"Well I want to go check out the tide pools and I would rather it still be light out so you don't twist an ankle." He chuckles, kneeling and moving some of our stuff together so it's less likely seagulls will get to it.
I roll my eyes. "I'm not that clumsy." Gerard just shakes his head at me with a smile. I move our food back into the cooler and picnic basket before finally standing up and kicking my sandals onto the blanket.
"Shall we?" Gerard asks with a smirk offering a hand to me.
"We shall," I laughed, taking his hand and heading down to the water to walk along the shore.
We walked peacefully along the water for a while. The water wasn't too cold which was nice and we watched the waves. It was even nicer that there were so few people at the beach now.
"See any pretty shells?" Gerard bumps against me.
"You're a pretty shell." I quip.
Gerard stops walking and looks down at me. "Babe, that doesn't even make sense."
"You sure about that?" I smirk, trying to keep in my laughter.
"Yes, like 100% sure." He laughs.
"You're pretty." I laugh.
"I'm pretty sure you're the pretty one here, Pumpkin." He squeezes my hand.
"Oh my gosh," I shake my head laughing.
"It's true." I can hear the smile in Gerard's voice before I feel his hand under my chin tilting my head up so he can kiss me properly. He let go of my hand and slid his arm around my waist pulling me closer. I can't help but smile into the kiss.
Gerard pulls away slightly, "I'm trying to kiss you here." He chuckles.
I can't help but laugh. "I know, you just make me happy." I lean up and press my lips back against his. He moves his lips against mine before we get hit by a wave at our knees.
We laugh it off and go back to holding hands and walking down the beach. Once we hit the giant rocks at the end of the beach we explore some tide pools and then start to head back as it gets darker on the beach.
"So..." I spoke up after a while. "Will you ever change me?" I looked down at my feet in the water as we walked avoiding the look I knew Gerard would give me for that question.
"Well," Gerard squeezed my hand. "While I wouldn't wish this on anyone. You are my forever girl, so someday yeah."
I stopped walking and looked up at him, "Really?"
"Yeah," He smiled down at me. I let go of his hand and brought my arms up around his neck.
"I would definitely like to spend forever with you." I smiled at him before reaching up for a kiss. His lips pressed against mine lightly.
"Good, cause I wouldn't want to spend forever with anyone else."
