Monday rolls around and for once I only wake up two minutes before my alarm. I feel good. Like things are normal. Well as normal as Vampires existing and me dating one can be.
I turn my alarm off and get up to get ready for the day. Looking around my room I see a little note left on my dresser from yesterday from Gerard with a promise of a movie night this week and a real first date. Smiling to myself I put the note alongside the other in my dresser. I can't help the smile that stays in place as I get dressed for the day and gather all my things.
Heading downstairs I make sure to leave my bag by the door and grab some shoes to put on now so I don't run late when the boys come to pick me up. I drop the shoes in the kitchen and grab some breakfast before sitting down at the table and scrolling through tumblr on my phone. As it gets closer to pick up time I put on my vans and gather some lunch for myself for the day. After putting some food in my backpack I hear the familiar beep of Gerard's beat up car.
Walking out the door and heading to the car I realize Mikey is sitting in the front seat, I'm not sure if I was expecting something different or not. But it feels good getting in the car with the boys again.
"Morning boys. I see I'm sitting in the back like usual." I chuckle closing the door behind me.
"Just because you're making her sit in the back doesn't mean I'm not going to turn around and kiss her." Gerard looks at Mikey.
"Oh my god." I can hear the eyeroll in Mikey's voice.
I laugh and lean forward between the two seats giving Gerard a kiss on the cheek.
"So gross," Mikey laughs, pushing my shoulder.
I turn to look at him resting my arm on the back of his seat. "Do you want a kiss too Mikey?" I smirk.
"God No!" He pushes my face away laughing. Gerard cracks up next to me as I free myself from Mikey and sit back down in my seat.
"Wait but I want a real kiss." Gerard pouts looking back at me.
I laugh leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Gerard's lips as Mikey groans next to us.
"Is this how it's going to be now? You two being grossly affectionate in front of me?" Mikey whines as I sit back down.
"Only sometimes. Can't have my best friend too grossed out." I reach forward and mess with Mikey's hair which earns me a slap on the hands from him.
Gerard chuckles and looks back at me. "You can sit up front tomorrow, Y/n. I'll make it fair for both of you." Gerard turned and gave Mikey a look as he pulled away from the curb.
"Gonna make us take turns like kids?" Mikey replied sarcastically.
I couldn't help but laugh as I watched the streets go by as we slowly approached the school.
"If that's what it takes, yeah," Gerard shrugs.
"Jerk."
"Whatever loser."
I smile to myself from the boy's banter. Can't believe I almost lost them because of some asshole vampire.
The rest of the drive was filled with us poking fun at Mikey for being embarrassed by us and how he should really make a move on Kristin to which he told us to 'shut the fuck up, it took a vampire nearly killing you both for you two to get together'. Which is rude but true.
Pulling up to the school it felt a little odd but no weirder than a few months back when I had to go to school after finding out Gee was a vampire. The parking lot wasn't busy yet which is surprising but nice because that means we can actually park next to Ray's car. Gerard notices the boy's standing behind Ray's car with Kristin next to them and lightly honks at them, making them jump. Frank flips us off but Kristin waves to us while we pull into the empty spot next to Ray's car.
Hoping out of the car I say hi to the guys and give Kristin a hug. It's good to hug one of my besties after the shitty two weeks.
"I missed you," Kristin says as she pulls away.
"I missed you too." I smile at her. Stepping back I adjust my backpack as Mikey and Gerard approach the group.
"Morning guys," Mikey gives Ray a side hug and a fist bump to Frank.
"Morning" Gerard waves to them as he comes and puts his arm over my shoulders, holding me close.
"Awww what cute lovebirds." Frank teases poking Gerard in the side.
"I'll hurt you," Gerard glares down at Frank.
"You sound like Y/n." Ray chuckles.
Frank and Kristin laugh too, Mikey and I try to keep our laughter in as we share a look.
"Whatever." Gerard smiles and presses a kiss to the side of my head.
"I'm really happy for you guys! You make a good pair." Kristin smiles at us.
"Thanks Kristin." I return her smile.
"HEY LOSERS!" We look up to see Pete waving to us from a few cars down and heading over to us with Patrick in tow.
"Hey Pete, hey Patrick." I greet them as they approach us all.
"What's This?!" Pete's voice goes high as he points to Gerard and I.
"Umm," Gerard looks down at me.
"We're dating now." I shrug under Gerard's arm.
"Our ship!!" Pete and Patrick yelled. Pete threw a fist in the air in victory.
"Fucking finally!" Patrick said loudly, and rolled his eyes with a smile
"We were a ship??" I say a bit too loudly.
"Yeah!" Pete shouted far too close to Patrick's ear causing the boy to wince.
Patrick shoved Pete away. "Yeah, you guys just kind of made sense in a crack ship kind of way. Well started out that way cause you guys didn't talk so it was like enemies to lovers." Patrick shrugged.
"Yup, so we named you guys sweet poison. One to make sure you didn't figure it out and two 'cause Y/n is sweet and Gerard looks like poison." Pete said smugly.
I laugh, rolling my eyes. "Oh my god."
The boys laugh and Gerard just chuckles awkwardly, tightening his arm around my shoulders.
"Oh my gosh Mikey!!" I turned to face my best friend. "You secretly shipped us this whole fucking time!" I realize looking shocked at Mikey.
"Holy shit. He did, didn't he! Y/n told me about sweet poison like two months ago." Gerard says looking accusatory at Mikey.
Mikey shrugs with a smirk. "Things happen."
"Wow. Mikey was playing the long game with you two." Frank laughs.
"Can't believe Pete and Patrick predicted this before any of us had a clue." Kristin said, crossing her arms.
"That's such a weird name to pick though. Sweet Poison." Ray looked between us. "I mean I get it, but there has to be something better than that."
"Hmmm. I think you should call us sweet venom instead of poison." I speak up trying not to smirk.
"The fuck? Why venom?" Pete says scrunching his eyebrows.
"Oh, I don't know," I can't stop the smile creeping up on my features. "I think it suits Gerard better. Poison doesn't fit Gerard, venom goes better with his... aesthetic" I laugh looking up at Gerard.
"Oh my god," Gerard rolls his eyes, pulling me closer to his side and burying his face in my neck as I laugh.
"Disgusting. Can't believe I wanted you two dorks to be together." Mikey says walking away from us, laughter in his voice.
"You guys are so weird." Pete rolls his eyes with a smile.
"Is there something I'm missing? Cause it feels like there's something I'm missing" Frank looks at Mikey's retreating form and Gerard's embarrassed face.
"Mmm, I don't think so." I say trying to hold in my laughter.
"We're clearly missing something here." Ray stage whispers to Frank.
Gerard just bursts out laughing and so do I.
"ARE YOU LOSERS COMING TO SCHOOL OR NOT?!" Mikey yells from the bottom of the stairs.
"COMING!" Pete yells speed walking over to Mikey with Patrick and Kristin in tow.
"That's what she said." Frank snickers before following the boys.
Ray just looks at Gerard and I's mischievous smiles before giving us one back and catching up to Frank.
"Ready to head in?" Gerard asks, watching our friends leave us.
"With you, I'd be ready for anything." I smiled at him.
"That's so fucking cheesy." He rolls his eyes but kisses my cheek anyway.
"That was the point." I smirk, pulling away from him and grabbing his hand. Gerard chuckles and squeezes my hand as we make our way to the school.
Walking up the steps to the school with Gerard's hand in mine makes it feel like everything is going to be okay.
