As Thorns To A Rose

We're always keeping secrets
A mystery to all eyes
Between us
None arise

We walk apart
Yet, I see a rose with thorns
Bounding us to a common past
I wish you were here, so I can tear your horns

I'm shrouded in darkness, unable to move forward
Wherever I walk, shards of glass hurt my feet
In those shards, I see your face
It hurts so much, and yet, I walk anyway

You flew away
Like a bee to a blossoming flower
Only after the perfect ones
What am I to you?

Am I a flower?
Are you a bee?
As do stingers to you
So do thorns to me

You left me stung
And so did I to you
As a stinger to a bee
As a thorn to me
