Captain Of The Water-Bed

I lose myself in the waves
The motions present to me the highs and lows of life
All the while I listen to the airwaves
My doubts rife

I look to the left and see an isle
It changes colors as my bubble thoughts go to the skies
Changing my view to the stars again, I hope the journey is worthwhile
Buried in an unending depth, I see the bottom and hope to drown my eyes

The water gets colder as the winds hit south
It is almost nighttime and I am still on deck
What did I do today? The day ended and all I got was salt in my mouth
All it took was a little peck

The cannonballs start coming. They hit me right in my head
I try to take cover in my chambers
A little dizzy, I see holes in the floor flooding with black waters and that which has been bled
Every captain remembers

Even if land is at hand
One goes down with the ship
