your p.o.v.

you and bucky were in wakanda fighting off thanos' army. (i forgot how iw went bare with me)

most of his army was defeated, but then you felt dizzy. you were about to fall over, you looked at your hands, and they looked like they were fading away. you panicked. "bucky!" you cried out.

"y/n!" he yelled, speeding over to you, he tried to grab you but you were gone. you turned to dust right infront of his eyes.

he screamed out in pain as he watched others around him fade away, too. he had just lost the love of his life.

"sam!" he cried, as if things couldn't get worse..

5 years later (bucky's p.o.v.

"i know it's crazy, but it would work!" scott reasoned, but bruce, sharon, nat and i just awkwardly looked at each other. "so.. time travel? like- back to the future?" i asked.

"no- yeah.." scott sighed. it was silent for a bit. "that could work." tony spoke up. "but it's crazy dangerous. i can't lose what i have." we all sat in silence.

"you won't." natasha reassured him. "but you have to remember everyone we lost. we have a chance- this is our chance to get them back!" she said even louder.

tony stayed quiet. "let's do it." i said. everyone began agreeing, and we all looked at tony for his advice. "this could either bring everyone back, or make everything 10x worse.." tony sighed. "okay, let's do it."

we all cheered, ecstatic to get everyone back. everyone's family, their friends could all come back.

a huge smile appeared on my face. "someone's excited." sharon said to me and i grinned at her. "it's gonna work." i said with confidence.

"we wouldn't be doing it if we didn't think so." she smiled, kissing my cheek. i took one of her hands in mine and placed a gentle kiss on it. "we're gonna get them back." i beamed.

time skip, once again: the final battle

i watched as bruce snapped his fingers. we all looked at one another in anticipation. we didn't think it worked, considering nothing was happening.

but then clint got a call. "it's laura.." he whispered, and my eyes went wide. before i could even process anything, my mind went blank.

i woke up with something crushing my body. there were flames all around and something heavy was crushing my chest.

"help! help! someone!" rocket called out, and i threw whatever was on me off of myself with my metal arm. 

i rushed over to rocket, helping him out as he panted. i quickly checked on rhodey before running out to see what was going on.

i saw thanos and his army. he easily out numbered all of us. there was no way we were going to win.

"on your left." i heard through my earpiece, and so did everyone else. i looked ahead of me to see portals opening up all around me.

i saw strange, the spider kid, wanda and so many others. but what really caught my eye was y/n. it felt like i haven't seen her in forever.

"is that everyone?" i heard dr. strange ask. "like you wanted more!" wong responded, doing that little thing his their hands.

but my eyes were trained on y/n. she caught a glance at me and flashed me a wide smile, as if she didn't just die and get brought back from the dead.

i never thought i'd ever see her again. y/n was helping all the other women take down thanos, as i took down his troops.

she smiled once again as she inched closer to me as she shot at the troops with me. i tried my best to not look like a nervous wreck.

how do i tell her i've moved on? what if she waited that entire time to come back? for me? and i moved onto someone new..

we all continously fought until thanos' army faded away. "we did it.." y/n said, teary eyed. i smiled widely. "we did it!" i yelled happily and she grinned at me.

she lunged into my arms. "i missed you." she cried into my chest. i hesitantly wrapped my arms around her.

the feeling was so foreign to me. they didn't feel like home anymore.

she must've seen the worried expression on my face. "are you okay?" she asked. i looked down as i tear fell from my face. i didn't want to break her heart. after we just defeated thanos, after she just got back..

i gulped. "i.. i've moved on.." i whispered with a saddened expression. her face fell instantly. "hey, mr. stark? mr. stark? it's peter." i heard. i quickly turned my head to see tony lifelessly sitting down.

y/n let at a scream as she ran to the scene, and i was quick to follow behind her. "tony.." she cried.

we watched him die right infront of our eyes. y/n and i shot helpless glances at one another. i wanted nothing more than to hold her, and i'm sure she felt the same.

but now it was as if we were strangers with history.
