— "I THOUGHT SOMETHING happened to you.", his arms wrapped around her body, that was slowly losing the strength it had before. His cheek was pressed against her head and her face against his chest. A couple weeks ago - or months even - she would have adored the moment, but right now it just didn't feel right.

All the lies and hidden truths forbid Ella to look at Draco as an innocent person.

A war is coming.
A war is coming.
A war is coming.

That was all Ella could think about as she was pressed against Draco's chest.

I'm not sure that being with Draco is going to guarantee you a safe place in this war.

What war? Why wasn't she allowed to know anything, especially things that had to do with her.

"You need to eat."
You need to tell the truth.

"Let's go walk outside. You're paler than usual—"

"Do you know anything about a war that is gonna happen?", his arms became stone right when the words came out of her mouth.

"W-What war?"

"Stop playing with me, Draco. I need to know what is happening.", his arms were pushed away by her weak ones.

Her back met the wardrobe and she watched his eyes move away from her.
"I need to know the truth. Please.", her throat hurt and she knew that there were tears in her eyes.

"Draco.", his eyes shot up and Ella noticed the redness in them.

"Don't ask me something like that, Ella.", he said slowly and looked away once again.

"Who was that man? Who killed Pierre. Who was he? If he even belongs to the group we call people."

"Lord Voldemort.", Draco said lowly and turned his back to her.

"Someone told me that he's after me... Do I have to be scared?", his eyes created clear and salty tears. "Tell me, Draco. Please.", Ella's voice became a loud whisper and her tears rolled down her cheeks.

The young man in front of her shook his head, the truth too scary to be said out loud.
"I need to know.", the Princess continued to repeat and received no response from him.

"Okay.", Draco silently cried at the sound of her tired voice.

Ella's luggage sat on the cold ground and her eyes wandered on the room she put back in place. The bed was freshly made by her and the wardrobe was now empty. She wanted to play the piano once again, but as the clothes were pushed aside no handle could be seen.

She couldn't say that she hadn't enjoyed the week and a half at the Malfoy Manor. Her stay was lovely. There was a voice in the back of her head telling her to stay; for Draco, but she needed a break. Dumbledore was happy to have her back at the castle earlier than intended and Ella was relieved.

"Thank you, Narcissa. These were wonderful days. I hope to see you again.", Narcissa pulled her in a tight hug before Ella had the chance to say all the words she had prepared.

"Please, darling, stay safe. Don't go away from Hogwarts.", the Princess nodded at her words and thought about what would happen after she put a foot outside their home.

"Draco will come back at Hogwarts in a couple of days. You could have stayed."

"I really need some time to think. Thank you, Narcissa. Say thank you to the elves as well... And to Draco too.", the golden haired girl smiled and the woman in front of her repeated the gesture.

"Thank you, darling.", and with a last smile, Ella grabbed her luggage and strolled towards their beautiful garden whose grass was still covered with a sheet of snow. The same golden carriage that brought the Queen and Ella to Hogwarts, stood in the Malfoy Manor's garden.

Draco pushed his curtains aside and stared at the beauty. He was ashamed of himself and his actions. He should have told her. Draco thought that being a man meant to protect people in a way. Now, looking at the way she was giving her luggage to another man, he knew that being a man meant to face the problems that life gave him.

His black coat was quickly put around his body and his legs brought him a few feet from her.
He watched the thick sleeves of her dress hugging her dainty arms. She was definitely cold, he thought.

"Thank you, George.", Draco watched her give the unknown man a warm smile. George quickly lifted his hat up, as a polite gesture. The Princess turned around and met his eyes.

The young man had no idea how he managed to keep his eyes connected with hers.

"Ella... Don't go.", the Princess lightly shook her head and looked away.
"You'll see me at Hogwarts.", she responded weakly.

"Why do I have the feeling that things between us won't be the same anymore?", her eyes still looked at the unicorn a couple meters away from her.

"Because you won't tell me the truth.", at her words, he was silent and without looking at him, Ella stepped in the carriage with Draco's favorite dress on her.
