— This was supposed to be a Luchlan chapter, but Renjun needs some appreciation right now and no one gives him more than his non biological brother Lachlan. I wasn't gonna post this but you know, if people don't like it then there's an exit button for a reason.
____________

When you're sad and down, Lachlan is the man to go to. When you need someone to fight your corner without a filter then once again, Lachlan is your man. The boy won't take any bullshit, especially when it comes to his Dreamies.

Renjun had been feeling down for a few days, so, it's only right that Chenle called the professional in. By professional I mean, Chaehyun. He's a professional at being unprofessional. Throwing on his jacket, Chaehyun stepped out of the car and headed inside the SM building and was immediately approached by one of the managers.

"Lachlan, you're not supposed to be here—"

"I'm gonna do the job that you're supposed to be doing and I'm going to go look after my boys. So, if you excuse me, I'll be in the practise room where the most talented boys on the planet are. Okay? Okay. Do excuse me."

Chaehyun twirled his keys in hands and offered the lady a charming yet sarcastic smile before continuing his way to the practise room whilst chewing on the gum. The woman swiftly turned around, attempting to mask her shock and threw on a stern look.

"Lachlan. You're a distraction. Do not make me call Mr Lee. You're acting very disrespectful to your elder. Get back here and look at me when I'm talking to you, Lachlan Kim. Or else I will be dragging you into that office and you will be placed on suspension."

Chaehyun chuckled and turned around to face her. He shrugged his shoulders, a completely unbothered look plastered across his face. "I suppose you're new here? I don't think I've seen you before. Or maybe I have, I'm not good with faces. But you clearly don't know the way I roll. I'll be respectful to you once you show me some goddamn respect. You can go tell Mr Lee whatever you want to tell him. You can drag me in there by my hair for all I care. Suspension just means more time with my dog, but it also means the fans are going to be wondering where I am. And I'm not opposed to telling them everything this company has ever said and done. I will gladly tell them how I disrespected you. I'll gladly tell them that you tried to stop me from comforting my little brother. Id rather get suspended and comfort my friend than sit back and let you overwork him whilst he's clearly low. Respect works both ways. Once you show me some respect then maybe I'll show you some. Have a good day now...Noona."

Chaehyun then proceeded to walk down the hall, leaving the woman standing utterly gobsmacked. If anyone was unbothered, it was Chaehyun. He didn't mind getting kicked out of the company if that's what comforting his friend lead to. Of course, he'd be saddened but Chaehyun isn't a push over. He doesn't play by the rules and if it meant cheering his friend up, he'd do anything.

Pushing the door open, he immediately spotted a sad looking Renjun in the corner. A few staff who were in the room with them, seemed startled by Chaehyun's presence. He gave them each a charming smile and ruffled Jeno's hair on the way past before sliding into the seat next to Renjun.

"Okay so there's a chance I'm gonna get dragged out of here in like two minutes, but it's okay. I completely have it covered. I'll bring you with me. Now, care to tell me why you look like a puppy that just got kicked?"

Renjun fiddled with his shirt. "I'm just not feeling the best and I kinda just wanna rest."

Chaehyun nodded. "I get that. Have you been able to have something to drink?"

Renjun shrugged. "I didn't have time to grab one this morning. I was going to ask one of the boys but didn't get the chance yet."

His eyes then lit up like a Christmas tree when Chaehyun pulled out his favourite drink from his pocket and handed it to him along with a bagel. Renjun grinned and threw his arms around the older boy who chuckled and threw his head back.

"You look kinda pale. Are you coming down with something do you think?"

Renjun pulled away and gently tugged the bagel out of Chaehyun's hand. Chaehyun took that as the opportunity to feel Renjun's forehead and he gasped slightly.

"Jeez Renjun, you're burning up. Why haven't you been sent home? Better yet, why haven't you just walked out?"

"Because he isn't you, Chaehyun. He actually cares about his job and his members, he pushes himself—"

"Oh so I'm a bad member for caring about my health? Well who else will if you guys won't? I've been through hell and back so, I think it's justified that I walk out when I'm feeling like I'm about to have a panic attack or collapse. My dearest apologies for being a human. I forgot that you guys programmed us to act like robots. my bad." Chaehyun placed four fingers over his mouth and cocked his head to the side.

"Chaehyun. I don't quite like your attitude."

"Okay, so maybe I am being slightly rude, which I do apologise for. But you can't sit there and make me out to be the bad guy when you guys have sat and watched him struggle, not even offered him anything to drink whilst he's sat here in pain."

The Dreamies were trying to stifle their laughter. Boy, they loved it when Chaehyun got sassy. Chaehyun wasn't a bad guy, he wasn't disrespectful. He was just sick and tired of the constant nagging. He turned back to Renjun and smiled softly.

"How about, you finish up your food and drink. You take a few moments to rest and if you feel like you can't continue then I take you home okay? And before you guys say anything." He turned the the managers. "I'll clear it up with my manager, you know the one that's actually nice? And Mr Lee if it makes you feel any better."

The staff members looked at each other and sighed, frustrated by the back talk. The smug smile on Chaehyun's face wasn't helping their moods either. None of them said a word which surprised the boys. Usually, they'd have kicked him out by now. Maybe they'd finally just given up with him?

Chaehyun sat back and grinned at the managers in complete and utter triumph, the four simply forced smiles, hating the fact that they'd been taken down by one of the idols. Thing is, Chaehyun doesn't care for his reputation. He'd gladly be outed to the press for being disrespectful and bratty. He'd learned not to give a flying monkey about what people thought of him.

He was standing up for his members, one of his younger brothers. And he would take backlash any day if it meant seeing a smile on his members face.
