"It's a bit suspicious that you had contact with Dad before I went missing, don't you think?" Hanra's steps came to a standstill but she didn't turn around. She didn't dare.

Chaehyun wasn't trusted alone and whilst the boys had headed out to do some work and his grandparents were dropping Daeyoon off for his first day back to college, Hanra had been left in charge of looking after him and Chaehyun jumped at the opportunity to talk to her.

Hanra wet her lips and began fiddling with the cushion at the end of Chaehyun's bed before she cleared her throat and forced her gaze up to look at him. "I wasn't—"

"Cut the shit, Hanra." His flinched at the harshness of his tone and nodded her head slowly, feeling nothing but ashamed. "You knew it was going to happen."

"I didn't. I knew they wanted you for something but I didn't know they were going to do what they did. I didn't know they'd get the sasaeng involved and I didn't fucking know they'd beat you to a pulp. So don't sit there and try to accuse me—"

Chaehyun's laugh cut her off. "Bit defensive aren't we?" Chaehyun loved his family more than anything. He had always had an extremely close bond with Hanra and he could read her better than anyone, which is why he felt so betrayed by her. "I believe you didn't know they were going to beat me and I also believe that you didn't know where they had taken me. But I don't for a goddamn second believe that you didn't know it was going to happen."

Hanra opened her mouth to defend herself, but she closed it only seconds later. She pushed the pillow off of her lap and stood up. Turning around, she stood directly in front of where Chaehyun was laying, tears glossing over the eyes which mirrored his own. Chaehyun felt his chest tug at the sight of her vulnerability and he had to stop himself from reaching out for her.

"I want my parents, Chae. I wanted them to see my achievements, see your achievements! I thought i had that when Dad got in contact. I was telling him all about you and he must have told Mum and--I didn't know what they were planning but I realized when you went missing that I had a mistake by giving them information." Chaehyun watched her carefully, he couldn't help but pity her.

Hanra is fifteen years old. She had been in the care of her grandparents from being seven. It was hard for her to grasp not having her parents around anymore, even if it had been eight years since the incident. She'd always been close with her Father, so it impacted her the most when she was ripped from his care. Chaehyun was aware of her hurt, he understood because after all, he had been through it with her. He was twelve when the incident had taken place. He was the oldest and though he was still extremely young, he took the responsibility to look after his siblings along with his grandparents.

"Why didn't you say anything? The police interviewed you and you must have told them that you had no idea. You knew our parents were involved Hanra, I was very close to death. Were you willing to let it get that far just to protect them?!" The guilt was eating away at her, she bit her lip and the tears stung her eyes as her older brother laid back in his bed and sighed. When he next spoke up, he made sure his tone was softer. "It's just--I can't help but feel betrayed by you. I've been there for you throughout everything and you didn't even give the tiniest bit of information to help them find me."

Hanra nodded looking down at her hands. The last thing she expected was for Chaehyun to grab her hand and pull her down beside him. He wrapped his arm around her and held her in the same way he did when she was eight years old. His lips pressed to her temple as she let the tears slide down her makeup-free cheeks. Chaehyun knew where her heart was when she was dealing with all of this. He couldn't help but pity her, she's a fifteen-year-old girl who just wanted her parents. And even though she made a huge mistake, Chaehyun wasn't going to hold it against her.

When he was twelve years old he promised to protect her and be there for her throughout anything. He was her big brother and he intended to keep that promise.
