"Can anybody find me...
Somebody to love?"

Being alone and perceived as a dark side and villain for so long built Deceit a reputation he couldn't quite live down. He was evil, a man who had no other motives than to hurt people and deceive them, or so the other sides thought. The truth was, he was very similar to them, this being the fact they all shared a common link by the name of Thomas. It didn't make them related, not really. It was more of a bond that just couldn't quite be explained. It was almost like this link marked them as their own 'species' of a sorts.

The problem with Deceit was that hardly anyone wanted to have a person known for lying around constantly. A common misconception was that Deceit only spoke in lies, but that was, in itself, a lie. In actually, he was fully capable of telling the truth and speaking his mind. He just chose to mess with the others and a way to alleviate his boredom, or hide how he was truly feeling.

His bad reputation and closed-off personality often left Deceit longing for some sort of relationship, and in addition wanting cuddles or something to take away the tugging feelings of being touch-starved and being alone. He would give nearly anything for another person with him that he could curl up to and talk about interests with, though he believed he would never admit that out loud.

Today, that tugging feeling in his heart and chest was stronger than usual, which caused him to secretly watch romantic movies, then listen to as many love songs as he could in between, longing for a romance these people had. Did everyone really have somebody to love? Or was it only Deceit who was the odd one out?

With a heavy sigh, Deceit rolled out of his bed and walked out of the room. He was wearing an oversized black t-shirt and black sweatpants, an outfit that practically begged to be used for a lazy day or cuddling. For now, it was only used for the former rather than the latter.

Walking into the living room, Deceit froze. He had been so caught up in his own thoughts that he even forgot the other sides were home, finally free from filming. On the couch, Patton, Roman, and Virgil stared at him. It seemed he had walked in on a movie night that Logan skipped, no doubt to work or even help with editing the videos as he sometimes did.

"Hey, Deceit!" Patton greeted happily. The other two gave him an odd look, like they were questioning his sanity for being nice to the lying trait.

"Why, hello, Patton..." Deceit quietly replied, shoving his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants and looking down.

"Want to join us?"

"What?!" Virgil and Roman cried out in unison.

"Dad, that's not a good idea," Virgil said, turning his whole body towards Patton, face serious. "Remember what he—"

"Virgil, that was years ago. We all made similar mistakes, it's okay."

"But Thomas ended up getting detention and—" Virgil cut himself off, allowing himself to relax into the touch of Roman, who's arms were wrapped around his waist as he softly calmed him down.

Deceit watched all of this, surprised. He found his own eyes locking with Patton's. The smile he was given by the moral side made his heart flutter, and he found himself slowly walking over when Patton gestured for him. He sat beside him and glanced at the man near him, who in turn look down at the much shorter side.

A lock of Deceit's longer brown hair fell down over his snake eye, something that happened frequently. However, he was left frozen and red-faced when Patton very gently pushed the hair back behind the deceitful side's ear. He giggled some and turned his attention back to the movie, some newer Disney one.
