Prinxiety and Logicality

Virgil had no idea what was going on with him. He was causing poor Thomas so much anxiety that he didn't even want to leave the house. It took many pleas from Talyn and Joan to get him to even get the mail. And, he wasn't making videos. Fans across the world were asking about him, and he never replied. Everybody was worried.

"I have to get myself together," Virgil whispered to himself. That's when he heard footsteps, and his bedroom door swung open forcefully.

"Haven't you heard of knocking?"

"Please," the Prince scoffed. "That is the least of importance here. I have a bone to pick with you."

In response, Anxiety glared. The other took this as a sign to continue.

"Thomas hasn't made a video in a month. A month! As his Creativity, I have the authority to tell you, his Anxiety, to lay off!"

"It doesn't really work like that, Princey." He looked up at the Prince through his bangs. Didn't the other understand that he couldn't just "lay off" of giving Thomas anxiety? If he could, he would.

"I don't care." Virgil stared, surprised at him.

"Princey, I can't. I—I'm sorry."

"Sorry doesn't help Thomas, Virgil!"

"Maybe if we get the others to help—"

"This isn't their problem. It's yours. You fix it."

"I can't do it alone."

Roman stared, then spoke, almost softly. "Very well, then. If you're not willing to help Thomas, then I do not wish to associate with you. I'm leaving."

"Roman," Virgil stood frantically as the other side strode towards the door. "Roman, please, Thomas needs you. We need you."

Princey spun on his heel to look at Virgil. "Really? Thomas seems to be operating well with you in charge. What does he need me for? Goodbye, Virgil."  He walked quickly out of Anxiety's room, seemingly disappearing.

Virgil was shocked. He sat on his bed and pulled his legs to his chest tightly. He felt a tear fall down his cheek, and he quickly tried to scrub it away.

What were they going to do now? Who was Thomas without his Creativity? Virgil was scared. What was going to happen? Questions swirled around his head like a tornado, spinning and spinning. Anxiety let himself lay down, his body still tucked against itself. Roman was almost like their anchor. Where Anxiety was pessimistic, Logan serious, and Patton emotional, Roman kept them grounded, taught them to lighten up. Bad nightmares for Patton? Make them funny dreams instead. Logic too wound up? Make him loosen up by playing word association.

But for Virgil, Roman affected him differently. Creativity and Anxiety were supposed to clash. How can you act on ideas when there's something mentally holding you back? But somehow, Roman helped Virgil. Anxiety pretended that he dreaded doing videos with the creative side, when he was actually mentally doing a dance every time. He looked forward to teasing the other, and to hear the same from Princey.

Would that ever happen again?

"Princey, come back," Virgil said softly to his empty room. It didn't respond, but he didn't expect it to.

Morning came a few hours later, but Virgil made no effort to get up. He stared up at his ceiling, seeing Roman's face every time he blinked. It was horrible to see Roman's face contorted into such anger.
