Logicality

"It even contains a front pouch to place an actual cat, if you so desire."

"I can't, I'm allergic."

It had been a week since the second nostalgia video, and Logan still couldn't get over that conversation he and Morality had.

He had never knew that Patton was allergic to cats. He found himself feeling . . . ashamed for not knowing this fact about the other trait. Sure, he knew Patton loved cats, the onesie seemed quite obvious. But he never knew that Patton couldn't have a real one. And that gave him an idea. It was time for Logan to get Morality another cat-related gift.

Logic sat at his desk, drawing a blueprint hastily, labeling the parts he would need. Next, he conjured the pieces, following his plans. He could have simply conjured the whole gift, but he found it would be more—what's the word?

Meaningful.

To cover the gears and mechanisms, he added "fur." He chose a soft, fluffy kind, one that would feel like the real thing without causing an allergic reaction.

He smiled proudly at his project, checking it over for anything he could have missed. When he was satisfied with it, he picked the object up, carrying it to Patton's room. He knocked on the other trait's door, and after a moment, Morality answered. He was wearing the cat shirt Logan had got him, and Logic felt a strange, almost fluttering feeling in his stomach.

"Hey, Logan!" Patton greeted, then looked down at the thing is his hands, frowning in confusion. "What's that?"

"I remembered what you had said about being allergic to cats, so I have made you this." He held the object out to Morality, and he took it, examining it. It looked like a ball of . . . fur?

"This is how you turn it on," Logan explained, pressing a button in the center. The sphere sprang to life, falling on the floor, and Patton gasped in surprise.

"It's a cat!"

"Indeed."

The cat wandered into Patton's room, and Morality followed, enchanted by it. Logan found himself wandering in as well, following the other side. The cat jumped on Patton's couch, and the side sat down, hesitantly reaching out to pet the creature.

"The 'fur' on this cat won't cause your allergies to activate," Logic said, standing next to the couch. Patton grinned wide, pulling the cat gently so it sat on his lap. It looked so real, yet Patton didn't feel the familiar feelings that usually came when he encountered a cat. He cuddled it close, and was pleasantly surprised to hear it purr and meow. He looked up at Logan, grinning wider than Logic had ever seen him.

"Thank you so much, Logan!"

"You're welcome, Patton." He turned to leave, but felt a tug on his arm. Morality pulled him into the couch, making him sit beside him. With his free arm, Patton hugged Logan tightly, and the Logical trait felt heat rise to his face as Morality pulled away. He even found himself smiling slightly as he gently pet the cat with Patton, though he nearly jumped when their fingertips brushed each other's. Morality was indifferent to the scene, still smiling contently at the cat as if nothing had happened.

An hour later, Patton was asleep, the cat curled on his chest. Logan stood, quietly opening the door and making his way out of the room, covering the smile on his face.

Logicality! And more cat oneshots.

So, this was once again some random inspiration, but the idea was stirring ever since nostalgia part 2, since I kept thinking how Patton said he was allergic to cats after Logan gave him the cat shirt. So yeah.

Enjoy, ~Kirs.
