I get a text from the one and only, Jack telling me he is waiting outside and is parked a few houses down. I laugh a little, and respond “you’re so pathetic, my dad isn’t that scary.” I send it, grab my Vera Bradley wallet and walk downstairs. “Going out with Mark and Liv, be back soon!” I yell and run out the door.
I get to his car and wait for him to graciously unlock it for me, while I freeze outside. I climb in and shut the door. “Thanks for making me walk like 6 miles!” I say and he chuckles
“Well I sure as hell wasn’t going to pull into your driveway so your dad could kill me!” He says and I laugh
“You’re so pathetic!”
“Maybe, but hey I’d rather be pathetic and sexy than dead.”
“I never said you were sexy. Someone a little obsessed with himself”
“Hey! I am not!”
“Just shut up and drive!”
“Yes mam” He says and we begin driving to what I thought was the mall.
“Uh the malls that way” I say pointing to the street we should have turned down.
“Yeah, but what would people think, if we showed up together, as teacher and student, looking for a shirt and tie?” He asks and I look at him.
“Uh they would think that we were there to buy a shirt and tie. It’s not like we were going to make out on the escalator!” I say and he laughs.
“Better safe than sorry, right?”
“Yeah, I guess, Whatever”
About an hour later we pull up to the New High mall and we both climb out of the car.
“Finally, that only took like a hour!” I exclaim and Jack laughs
“Relax, we are here now” He says and we start walking towards Nordstrom. We walk inside and immediately a skinny, blonde, sales associate named Tiffany walks over to us.
“Hello. Welcome to Nordstrom, my name is Tiffany. How may I help you?”
“Yes, hi where are the shirts and ties?” Jack asks and she smiles
“They are right over there behind the belts.” She says pointing to her left.
“Thank-You” We both say in unison and we begin walking.
“I think someone has a little crush on Jack” I say nudging him and he laughs
“Oh little ole me? Nah, no way” He says blushing a little and I laugh
“Awh someone’s blushing!” I say as we reach the shirts and ties
“Just go find me a nice shirt” Jack says and he sits down on one of the couches while I sort through shirts.
“What color were you looking for?” I ask standing behind rack of shirts
“Uh I don’t know. What color is your dress?” He asks casually and I walk from behind the rack,
“Awe you want to match me?” I ask smiling as he blushes a little
“Well yeah, we are going together” Jack says in a ‘duh’ tone and I laugh
“True, very true. So my dress is light pink. So how about a light pink tie, a light pink vest and a white shirt? Along with your black suit and pants?” I ask looking at the light pink vests,
“Here try this one on” I say and I hand him two different size vests and he tries them on with a white long sleeved button down shirt. He comes out with one of them on
