Chapter 13  No More Jumping!

He loves me? Jack Morris, my English teacher, loves me? Am I dreaming? I cannot believe that a guy like him could fall for someone like me. I mean for God’s sake, I’m just some high school girl. I’ve hardly been in a real relationship before. This is insane! I wonder if he respects me enough to wait. I mean God I’m only 17, I’m hardly ready to be in a serious relationship. What if he leaves me because I’m not ready for sex? He’s not that kind of guy, right? I’m sorry I’m rambling, alright let’s get back.

Tuesday Morning

” I said, y'all having a good time out there

Yeah, yeah, que no pare la fiesta

Don't stop the party

Yeah, yeah, que no pare la fiesta

Don't stop the party…”

“Okay! Okay! I get it!” I mutter into my pillow, as my hand slaps around for the snooze button on my alarm clock. I manage to hit the snooze button and the music turns off. I get up, shower and change into a pair of grey jeans and a loose orange and brown patterned sweater along with an orange scarf (Outfit to the right)  ààààI run downstairs and grab a granola bar. “Hey buddy! I feel like I haven’t seen you in like forever!” I say to Gabe and he smiles. My mom walks downstairs, in a hurry.

“Morning” I say as I walk to the fridge for a bottle of water

“Morning honey”

“Did Dad leave already?”

“Yeah, he had an important briefing with his troops across seas. He won’t be home for dinner, and unfortunately neither will I.” She says as she organizes her briefcase. “I’m already running late, can you drop your brother off at Debby’s?” She asks

Debby lives a town over and she watches Gabe from time to time when my parents are both on business trips and such.

“Don’t worry about it, ma. I’ll get him there. I’m assuming you need me to pick him up too?”

“Yes, can you? That’d be great.” My mom says smiling as she packs up her briefcase. “I’ll see you later, sweetie.” She says and I hug her and she kisses Gabe on the head. About an hour later, I bring Gabe over to Debby’s. I’m just about to leave when he starts crying.

“Jessie, no! Don’t leave!” He cries. I walk over and kneel down in front of him, wiping his tear filled eyes.

“Bud, I have to go to school. I’ll be back very soon. Don’t worry. While I am gone, you get to play with Billy and all his trucks!” I say and he looks up at me, sniffles and smiles a little.

“Weally?”

“Really, bud. Now be a good boy for Debby and we can get ice cream for dessert, okay?”

He sniffles again and nods. “Wuv you Jessie”

My heart just about melts at this adorable little boy. I smile and wrap my arms around him. “It’s you and me against the world, bud. I’ll see you later” I say and I make my way out to my car. I look down at my clock and I realize I am already 15 minutes late for school. “Awesome” I mutter and I speed to school. I park my car and walk into 2nd period, science. Even better. I wlak in and everyone looks at me.

“Why are you late?”

“Uh family things” I mutter and I start walking to my seat.

“Hold on. I need you to go down to the office. You’re late and there is no excuse for being late.”
