Chapter 38
Jess POV
“I am so burnt!” I say as I lay down on the living room floor wearing white soccer shorts and a tank top.
“And whose fault is that?” Liv asks
“Uh clearly it’s your fault. Maybe if you and your boy toy would come out of the bed room, I would have had someone to talk to on the beach!” I say and she laughs
“My bad?”
“Uh yeah, you’re bad” I say and the two of us just talk while the guys are out getting dinner
“But in all seriousness, I think Jarred is the one.”
“Really? You guys haven’t even been on a date yet though.”
“Yeah. But when you find the one you just know, right?”
I smile and nod “Yeah, I just don’t want you to get hurt, Liv. Don’t get me wrong, Jarred is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. But guys are guys, and all guys are stupid”
“Hey! I heard that!” Jack says as he walks into the house with Jarred behind him, each holding bags full of food.
“Good! You know its true” I say to Jack.
“Is not.”
“Is too!”
“I’m not going to win this argument am I?”
“Uh nope”
“Okay, then you’re right, we are all stupid.” Jack says
“Hey! Speak for yourself, man” Jarred says and we all laugh
“Oh please.” Jack says “You’re probably the stupidest one out of all of us”
“What makes you say that?”
“We’ve been friends for years. I have seen all the stupid things you have done, man” Jack says and Liv and I just ignore the two of them.
“So can we eat?” I ask
“Yeah, I’m starving” Liv says
“Women” Jack and Jarred both mutter. Liv and I get up and run into the kitchen
“Slow it down there, girls. Some of that food is ours too!” Jarred says.
We all sit down in the living room, eating sandwiches and just being silly.
“So what time are we heading home tomorrow?” I ask
“Uh probably around dinner time, why are you trying to get away from us?”
“Yeah. Sorry I can’t stand you people” I say, fighting back a laugh.
“I’m so sure!” Liv says “You love me!”
“Very true” I say and I look at Jack “Sorry pretty boy. I found a new person to love”
“Oh hell no! That is not happening. Sorry Liv, but she is mine.”
“I don’t know Jack, Jess and I make a pretty sexy couple” Liv says and her and I laugh.
I look over at Jack and I smile.
“I have an idea! Let’s have a date night!” I say and Liv smiles and nods.
“That sounds great!”
