Chapter 7. Mall-O-Mania

10:30pm My House.

I park my car and I walk up to the front door. I unlock it, ‘please be asleep, please be asleep’ I say to myself as I cautiously take a step inside. I shut the door and make my way to the stairs, just as the living room light flicks on.

“Nice of you to come home.” My dad says, coldly.

“I’m sorry, I lost track of time, and there was a detour coming home.” I say lying like a professional.

My dad scoffs “Hmm sounds legit, I believe you but I don’t know what you’re mother will think.” He says

“Where is she?” I ask. Speak of the devil, she walks in from the kitchen

“Jessica Nicole Hogan!” Oh God not the full name. “Where the hell have you been!?” She firmly says trying not to wake Gabe up.

I look over at her “I lost track of time, I’m sorry?” I say trying not to laugh at how serious she’s being right now.

“You didn’t answer my question, WHERE have you been?”

“I went to the reservoir and a friend needed a ride home, so I drove him home.” I say, now leaning against the railing.

“Friend? And what friend might that be?”

“Uh it was Mark.” I say “Can I go to bed now?”

“Yes, fine. Just go” She says waving me away. I run upstairs and shut my bedroom door.

10:00am Friday Morning- - - - - - The morning before the Wedding.

I wake up to the vibrating sound of my Samsung Galaxy S3. I’m lying on my stomach and I free my hand from under my warm pillow and I reach around on my night stand for my phone. “Where is it” I moan and my hand finds the cold piece of metal. “Gotcha” I say to myself as my phone keep ringing. I answer it. “Whoever this is better have good reasons for waking me up” I say simply.

I hear that familiar chuckle and I roll my eyes. “What do you want” I ask

He laughs again, “You said you were going to come with me tomorrow so I can get a shirt for the wedding. Well it’s tomorrow and I need a shirt.”

“It’s like 10 AM!”

“Exactly! So get your lazy ass up, and I will be there to pick you up in an hour.”

“An hour? How the hell am I supposed to shower and get ready in an hour?”

“Just do it” He says and hangs up

“UGH! You egotistical, arrogant, asshole!” I yell at the phone, I pull my warm blankets off me and I drag myself over to the bathroom for a quick shower. I strip and turn the water on. I wait a few seconds for it to warm up and I step in, shutting the curtain. The hot water, eases the knots in my body, I stay in the shower for a little longer than I should have. I get out and walk into my room, freezing. I throw on a pair of skinny jeans, gray and pink boat shoes and a gray soccer sweatshirt. I quickly dry and straighten itm just in time.
