Chapter 33      Meet The Brother

 

 

Jess POV

“Mom! Tell her she cannot talk to me like that!” John says, now red in the face

“Jonathan, stop!” My mom yells and everyone turns and looks at her. “Now John, I know you haven’t been around in the past few months but Jess and Jack are very much in love. Don’t you remember when you and Selena were like that?”

John looks at Jack and I and he nods slightly. “I guess. I don’t know. It’s weird. She’s my baby sister”

“I’m 18, John” I say and he snaps his eyes up to mine.

“Are you really?”

“You forgot?”

“Jess, I’m really sorry. With the wedding and everything, I haven’t been thinking about much more.”

I shrug my shoulders “Well dad forgot too, and he’s taking me out to dinner. So what’s your offer?” I ask and I can feel Jack’s chest rising up and down as he chuckles a bit.

“I guess I had that one coming. How about I take you and your friend here out to dinner….tonight?” He asks

“You my big brother have a deal” I say and I walk over and wrap my arms around his waist. “But if you ever forget my birthday again, you will regret it” I say and he smiles and nods

“That’s only fair” He says and I smile and walk over and I lie down on the couch.

Jack looks at me and smiles, shaking his head. He turns to my brother. “Hi, I’m Jack and I am dating your beautiful, yet very lazy sister.”

“Hey! I am not lazy!” I say and everyone starts laughing. I smile “I hate you guys” I mutter and Jack walks over and sits down under my legs again.

“Don’t lie. You love us” Jack says and he rubs my legs. I smile and shake my head

“If you say so. Ooh! What time does the Knicks game start?!” I ask as I roll around, looking for the remote controller.

“Don’t even bother, with those Knicks.” John says “The Celtic’s are going to kick their asses tonight!”

“Are not!” I say

“Babe, you know the Celtics are going to win” Jack says.

“You’re a Celtics fan?” John asks Jack

“Uh yeah!”

“Hmm, maybe you’re not as bad as I thought.” John says and I roll my eyes.

“Gee, maybe you two should date and I’ll take Selena” I say and Jack laughs.

“Nope you’re stuck with me.” He says

I smile and nod “If you say so, pretty boy”

“Would you two shut up? The game’s about to start” John says and Jack and I laugh a little. I grab a blanket and sit up next to John, pulling the blanket just around me.

“Are you going to share that?”

“I wasn’t planning on it” I say, looking up into Jack’s eyes.

“Why you little….” He says and he lifts me up, sitting me in his lap. “Then you’re just going to have to keep me warm.” He whispers and kisses my forehead.
