Chapter 41

Jess POV

“I love you too, Jessica Morris.” Jack says and I smile

I look up into Jack’s eyes “Why now?”

“Why?”

“Yeah”

“Because I’m tired of shit getting in the way of us. I want to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you and only you. There is no more Lisa or anyone that can take me away from you.”

“That’s a damn good reason you got there, Mr. Morris” I say with a smirk on my face

“Well it’s 100% the truth.”

“And I’m glad it is.” I say as my family pulls me away from Jack. The girls take me inside and the guys all congratulate Jack outside.

‘Show us the ring, honey!” My aunt Lucie says. I smile and hold out my hand as everyone gets a good look at the rock on my finger.

About an hour later, I’m sitting on the couch bored out of my mind as my female relatives go on and on about the details of my wedding. Come on! I got engaged like an hour ago for goodness sake!

Jack POV

It has been about five minutes since I proposed and she has already been taken from me. I watch her being dragged inside by her family as her guy relatives all surround me patting me on the back or high fiving me.

“Uh thanks guys?” I say as one of them hands me a beer. Jarred walks over to me and shakes my hand.

“Congrats man. I wish you all the best.”

“Thanks.” I say and we all just sit around the yard and talk about nothing in general. About an hour later I look over at the back door and I can see Jess sitting inside with her head in her hands.

“Be right back” I say and I run up to the back door, sliding it open.

“Excuse me, ladies. Can I borrow my fiancé?”

“Of course, dear” Her mom says. I smile and walk over to Jess

“What are y-…..” I cut her off and pick her up, tossing her over my shoulder

“You’re coming with me” I say and I hear her giggle a bit.

‘Jack put me down!” She yells as her fists hit my lower back. I walk outside, placing her on the hammock.

“Happy?”

She looks up at me “You need to stop picking me up”

I lie down next to her and smile “Nope, sorry babe that’s not going to happen.”

She rolls her eyes and lies back and we start swinging slightly

“I can’t believe we’re getting married” She whispers and I smile

“You’ve sort have known for a while now, babe”

“Yeah well, now it’s official. I get to wear the ring on my finger, and I get to tell my friends and family, you know.”

“I see where you’re coming from.”

She smiles and looks up at me “So does this mean I get to move into your apartment?”

My eyes meet her nervous, hazel eyes. “Yes mam”

She lets out a breath that neither of us knew she was holding “Good”
