Chapter 15 Friends. Brothers. And Football
Jack P.O.V 9:00 AM Sunday Morning
I wake up and look to my left. I smile, looking down at my angel sleep. Her head resting on my arm, that’s securely wrapped around her. And her hand resting on my chest. I could wake up like this every morning. God I am glad I told her I how feel. I gently brush the hair out of her face and I feel her stir a little. I draw back my hand just as she opens her eyes.
“I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“It’s okay.”
I smile and wrap my arm tightly around her. She looks up at me, her one hand still on my chest.
“What time is it?” She asks looking around for a clock.
“Uh like 9:15 am”
“God, what’s up with you waking up early?”
I chuckle a bit and shrug my shoulders. “Maybe I’m just used to getting up early for work.”
“Or maybe it’s because you’re an old man. Old people tend to get up rather early.”
“Hey! Watch it. I’m not that old! I am only 24”
“Exactly! You’re like ancient!” She says, laughing a little. “But it just so happens, I like older guys”
I can’t help but smile.
“And teachers. Apparently you have a thing for teachers too.”
She blushes a little. “Hmm there is this one teacher. He teaches Physics. Mr. Brodom”
“Jess! He’s like 56 years old!” I say laughing uncontrollably.
“He’s like a Silver Fox.” She says and starts laughing just as hard as me. I smile and kiss her forehead.
I smile and get up “I’m going to shower. “
“Save me some hot water, please!”
“We’ll see about that.” I say smiling as she throws a pillow at me. I easily dodge it. “You throw like a girl!”
“Well I sure hope so, considering I am one!” She yells and I laugh and walkout of the room to the bathroom.
40 Minutes Later I am sitting in the kitchen, drinking coffee with my Brother and Dad. Jess walks in wearing black yoga pants and one of my Grey Harvard sweatshirts. I smile and my brother whistles.
“Man, Jack. I am seriously jealous of you right now! You know how to pick ‘em!”
‘Tom, shut up man!” Jess walks in and over to me, smiling.
“Morning” She says to my dad and brother. “And thanks Tom, I guess your brother does know how to pick ‘em huh?” She asks smiling. I look up at her, in complete awe.
“Do you want some coffee? My mom went out to get some bagels and fruit.”
“Uh sure, coffee is good, thanks”
“Have a seat and I’ll get you some coffee”
She nods and sits down at the table. I walk over and hand her a mug of coffee and the four of us just talk.
“So Jess, what are you studying in college?” Mr. Morris asks me. I choke a bit on my coffee awaiting her answer.
“Well want to teach kids with disabilities one day.” She says. I look down at her.
