BOOK: Daddy's Little Earner

AUTHOR: Maria Landon

GENRE: Autobiography

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 'Daddy's Little Earner' tells the shocking story of a young girl forced into prostitution by her own father, and her painful journey to escape her horrific childhood and build a new life for herself and her sons.

REVIEW: The first word that comes to my mind when I think about this book is heartbreaking. The things you get to know seem so unthinkable that you want to believe that it's all fiction but the hard truth is that this all happened to this young girl. This book really made me look at what I have and be so thankful for it; the fact that I have a safe place to come home every night is something that I have looked over until now.

I felt sick reading most of this book, and angered by the fact that the council had so many chances to save this little girl but they never did. It's a really depressing read, but I think it was really important.

FINAL VERDICT: An absolutely saddening story which has made me so thankful for my parents.

RATING: 8.5/10
