BOOK: Aphorisms on Love and Hate
AUTHOR: Friedrich Nietzsche
GENRE: Maxims
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The iconoclastic German philosopher's blazing maxims on revenge, false pity, and the drawbacks of marriage. [Penguin Little Black Classics No. 5]
REVIEW: I really didn't know what the think when I started reading, but I actually loved this. It was so witty, and so dry, yet it also held so much truth. I have no idea when this was written, but it feels so modern and the ideas within are so relevant today.
While it was entertaining and a fun read, it really made me think about a lot of things, and changed my view on certain aspects of society. There are so many lines which really stuck with me like 'love and hatred are not blind, but are blinded by the fire they themselves carry with them'.
FINAL VERDICT: A really beautiful, fascinating look into society.
