BOOK: What She Left
AUTHOR: T. R. Richmond
GENRE: Mystery
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Alice Salmon: young, smart, ambitious - with her whole life ahead of her. Until the night she mysteriously drowns.
Nobody knows why or how.
But Alice left a few clues: her diary, texts, emails, and social media trail.
REVIEW: I liked this book, but I didn't love it. The idea of this book was very interesting and exciting, and I was left guessing and questioning suspects throughout the whole book. But the actual plot twist felt very forced, and like someone had just stuck it in to throw the reader off.
I wasn't too keen on many of the characters either; most of them felt like really bland characters that I had already seen before. Especially the character of Jeremy Cooke, I really didn't like him or anything he imputed.
To be fair, I did read this during quite a bad reading slump so it took me a longer time than usual, but this book didn't really have any effect on me.
FINAL VERDICT: It was a pretty average book, and there were some really creative and interesting parts.
RATING: 7/10
